What are Retreats?

Rekindle Your Spiritual Spark

When you set aside time just to focus on your spiritual goals, it can open your eyes to how amazing life could be if you lived each day like that. Yet it takes some effort to make spiritual development your priority, or even to see its importance, when in the run of daily life we can easily loose sight of it.

Retreats can show you how to apply the Gnostic teachings throughout each day, make them a natural part of life and get the most out of every moment. This understanding helps a great deal when you return home – you can use it to make something extraordinary happen within and find peace in your everyday life, through all its, twists, turns and challenges. We don’t run retreats to escape from life, but to help people understand how to face it with a spiritual strength and focus.

Our retreats are held at beautiful locations in the splendor of nature, where you can get away from the stress and distractions of daily life, take the time to recharge and revitalize, look within and gain new insights and a fresh perspective. They are fully catered occasions, so you can spend your time focusing on what really matters and explore your potential in a friendly and supportive environment, acquiring an understanding you may cherish forever.

Friendship, warmth and care for others are staples of spirituality, and these things can really blossom at a retreat. It’s a great way to meet people with a common interest and make new friends. By spending time at a serene setting surrounded by others with similar aspirations, new and wonderful possibilities can open up. Our teachers guide the activities and are always on hand to provide help, support and assistance wherever needed. A range of techniques from Gnosticweb’s courses are taught and experienced, and many insightful spiritual topics discussed and explored.

You can take part in guided practices and delve deep into their mystical potential, experiencing the depth and power they really have. It’s much more motivating and inspiring trying them with others – everybody’s combined efforts lifts you up – and everyone benefits from the focus of energy generated by the group. This helps you to break into new ground and receive profound insights.

With the time spent on practicing, discussing and experiencing spirituality, as the days go by the momentum just builds and builds, until by the end it’s possible to feel quite different, with much more peace and serenity. You can start to see what an amazing opportunity we have in life and the potential there is for something truly wonderful and meaningful to take place in it, not as a vague idea, but as something you feel and experience. The possibilities of the spiritual work become something tangible and evident, and this can really motivate you to take it further. This experience can give you a strong basis to set off from, which becomes your springboard for further discoveries as you return to everyday life and face its challenges.
