About Me:

I am originally from California's San Joaquin Valley--I received my BA in Psychology from UC-Santa Barbara, and my PhD in Social Psychology from A Large Midwestern University. While I was working on my dissertation, my wife (who is from Florida) and I realized that we both strongly dislike cold winters and so with that logic we naturally decided to move to Hawaii. I teach social psy, stats and other classes at the university level in Hawaii. Also, after a stint in executive management at a substance abuse clinic here in Hilo, I do research and statistical consulting and also college admissions advising to HS students.

I am delighted to start to get to know everyone, and look forward to our adventures in dreams and AP together.

Warm regards,

Brian

General:
I enjoy hiking (there is a ton of it here on this island), snorkeling and some other outdoor activities; also amateur astronomy--The Keck telescope and other observatories are at the summit of Mauna Kea... These recreational activities, in conjunction with much of the work experience above, has taught a great deal to me about the uniqueness of the Hawaiian culture, and has contributed a great deal to my own personal educational development--much more than I would have ever guessed.

Hi Brian,

I actually went to the APA convention in Honolulu a few years ago (I'm an I/O). Did you happen to attend?

I can see why you and your wife would want to move to Hawaii. It is such a beautiful place and has a much different feel than the fast-paced states.

Best,

Gabrielle
