I have read that it is a hidden place in Tibet, where the white lodge live (ascended masters who have decided to stay on Earth and help humanity), one of them being Jesus Christ.

It could be a symbolic dream, you have to use your intuition for it.
On the positive side you can say that in order to reach shambala you have to suffer and work for it.
If I remember correct I'veread something about it by VM Samael that it is in the fourth dimension, a kind of paradise.
So us mortals can not see it, unless we become enlightent.
Also James Redfield wrote a nice adventure/spiritual book (called shambala) about it.
Another way is that you keep on concentrate on this what you saw, when going to bed, in order to project there in the astral.
Good luck, Peter

Sometimes when we dream, we actually do go to those places and can at times see them, the real aspects of the astral through partial dreams/partial astral experiences. It could be that you were actually there but not allowed to go anyfurther or Negative Entities trying to stop you.
thanks,
