I spent some time practising AP today for what I thought would, or should be ten minutes, to my surprise my consciousness had slipped in and out for what was twenty five minutes! Anyway, I had a very good practise session as I was aware of my breathing for most of the time and felt most but not all of my body go numb. I did study whilst I was in the trance state, a possible theory for all the thoughts and lingering voices in my head, and it would seem that it could be that my mind, our minds, are going through and erasing all the irrelevant egos and that's why we hear these voices except the really loud ones which could possibly be in the astral plane. It's just a thought, but possibly a good one. I really feel so much better once I've finished, it's like I'm all awareness and no egos at all. ;DI also wondered, as I workout with weights and stimulate all the muscles in my body, would have chakras that are more open and cleansed as to someone doesn't keep fit? |

I sometimes get that, too, where I practice for way longer than I intended. Sometimes it's actually due to me having good concentration and maintaining it, but quite often I lose my concentration in the middle and end up either daydreaming or I fall asleep and this lengthens the practice, too.
It's great you had a good practice. With your body feeling numb, it sounds like you were getting close to projecting. The numbness seems to go hand-in-hand with the sleep paralysis which is about as close to the split as possible.
I'm not sure I've fully understood what you mean by these thoughts and lingering voices. If you mean the thoughts, etc. when we are physically awake, I find that it's not actually the egos being erased... the egos are actually feeding and getting stronger. It's sort of like how by worrying a lot, we tend to worry about smaller and smaller things - the egos of fear get stronger and stronger.
If you meant hearing voices when we are falling asleep, that's another sign we are either very close to splitting or have already split. Thoughts in our head can sometimes become voices that we hear as sleep draws in.
About the awareness... perhaps in those times, your body needs some rest. I find if I am tired and have a good rest that when I get up, I feel refreshed and energized and this helps heaps with the awareness.
Having the chakras activated requires carrying out the spiritual work or chanting various mantras for temporary activation. As far as I know, there is no required level of physical activity. But of course it's good to keep in shape anyway.
