I have a question about how to project.Do you project before going to sleep?Or do you fall asleep with your concious awaken and then move out?I've only managed to it once through a Lucid Dream but im trying to learn other techniques |

When our physical body is asleep, our astral body detaches from our physical body and our psyche is transferred into our astral body. Ordinarily, we spend the time in dreams in the astral plane, because our subconscious is so strong, but as you have seen with a lucid dream, we can realize that we are dreaming and this allows us to explore the astral plane consciously.
We can also project by keeping our mind concentrated as we fall asleep so that instead of being lost in thoughts that turn into dreams, we are aware of the instant that our astral body has detached.
If you'd like to learn more on this, the astral travel course is very helpful, providing various exercises to project directly from bed and lucid dream, along with very practical information on how to explore once we're there.
All the best!

I'am not the most succesful Astral traveler, but I have some experience. It will be all explained in the courses very clearly. What works for me is the continious awareness that I try to maintain
during the day. Then, a good visualisation practice on one object. And just before I go to sleep 30 minutes mantra practice. Once in bed
choosing one of the ways to astroproject,
the concentration and the will to do it, are most essential. Asking for help my divine parents,
and asking my self what is it that I want to investigate this night, also helps alot.
If I fail, I observe what was the factor of my failure, so the next time I am more succeseful.
My advice to you; practice your concentration on one thing, be it awareness state of being, be it
the singing of a mantra with no other thoughts interfering, once you achieved a good concentration, you can easily astroproject and more..

How many of us are really successful in AP?
How oftenly we do neglect to be concentrated, even if we do mantra or do so-called awareness walk ?
Thank you for your reminder!

I have discovered recently that my practice are continued yet the main focus moves on to something else when it arises. Like OK I have learnt relaxation and manged a few AP's so now I am focussed on egos, then I move onto Meditation (Koans etc) then onto meditation on an ego etc etc.
However what I was forgetting is that all the practices are linked into each other and just because we are focussed or have a goal on getting something new right doesn't mean old practices should be afflicted with staleness or mechanicalness.
For instance I have been re-investigating relaxation. Easy right..well thats what I thought. There seems to be so many layers to every practice and its important not to become complacent and to actively try and attain new understandings. Even if we think we already know and have done it many times.
I might be just talking to myself here but hay...thats one person who can't hurt to hear it again :-)
Hello Chris, well done on having an OBE and I hope you choose to take up the advice of others and trying the online course. With it a deeper understanding of the practice will unfold and with efforts more and clearer experiences.
Take care everyone,

I found a few things
-relaxation is a very active process, I need to keep searching for areas of tension and relax them.
-there are some areas which tend to remain tense -so why not to start with them?
-saying mantras aloud can really help for a deeper relaxation, exhale the rest of the tension.
Yes, I find too, that all the practices supplement each other and there are levels and levels to advance in all of them, even in the very simple ones.
Take care!

First we need to sleep for it, so the amount of sleep sets up the first limit.
Secondly we need to be aware for astral travelling, be conscious in Astral, which depends on our level of skill to be aware, degree of our spiritual development.
We can work on this one, raising our limits and stay there longer.
Best regards!

Yeah, it sounds like you were experiencing the split between the astral and physical bodies. The timing of when to get up can be a little tricky, but through practicing, you'll start to recognize the cues easier.
Intuition works great for this...it's hard to explain but you might just get a feeling that it is time to get up. Anyway, it's great that you're going to experiment with this and just see what happens. It's just like learning how to play a new sport or game in some ways...you can hear the instructions a million times, but until you actually try it out, things can be so unclear.
Good luck tonight!

That's exactly how it is. Once you're out, the body is totally easy to move around. Like in the animatrix the kidz find that anti-gravity spot, jump into
it and the sensation is just aaaah.. the astral body is just aaaaah..
compared to the physical body. This body is like a heavy sack of potato.
I can understand why NDE's have second thoughts about re-entering it.
