I've been trying to have a succesful OBE for a little while now, and I keep getting stuck at the same spot, my body starts to shake, and i can barely move it, my arms start to raise themselves but i can't make the split, i can feel everything around me without having to open my eyes, but i couldn't just get up and walk around...it's really frustrating, but i'll keep trying. Any tips? |

Sounds like your very close :) My advice is to keep concentrating until you feel more of your astral body rise up out of your physical. Try not to get excited or anxious about projecting. Having any kind of thoughts or emotions can ruin the practice.
Once you feel that the bodies are splitting you can try to get up out of your physcial body. To do this you just try to sit up as you would normally when getting up out of bed. You can also try rolling over out of your physical body with your astral body. To do this you just gently try to roll over like you would normally in bed. The key with both of these things is to do it very carefully so that you don't disturb the practice incase the split hasn't occured.
It takes a bit of practice to know when to try and get up out of your physical body with your astral body.
Keep going with it, your almost there:)
Take care,

I've had a similar experience like yours. My upper body would always seem to be stuck while my arms and legs are already floating up in the air. I had my astral eyes open so it was easy for me to see my arms and legs in the air so I knew that I had partly split. What I did in this situation is I literally pulled myself out as hard as I could. I ended up going through the ceiling and then snapped back into my body. :( Then I tried the rolling over technique and I was able to get out. I know for me, when certain body parts get stuck, it usually means I haven't fully relaxed that body part. Getting up at the right time can be really tricky. I just always imagine floating up...this works best for me.
I also find that if I get too excited about wanting to astral project, I don't. It's good to have enthusiasm and motivation to astral project but too much of it can also hinder me from getting out. I always say to myself...if I project that's great!...if I don't project, that's great!...now what other strategies can I try...what do I need to change to make this work? I re-evaluate the way I do my exercises without thinking or worrying too much that I WANT TO PROJECT. The mind is such a terrible thing :)
Good Luck

I had quite a similar experience yesterday. I relaxed, then focused on heart (not the beat of the heart) and waited if I would luckily consciously project. After about 15-20 minutes the whole body started shaking! Really strong shaking, like when you are very very nervous.
So Im really confused now. People tell that they FEEL vibrations, but I FELT and I WAS truly shaking. Even my eyelids. They were shaking so much, they wanted to open, but I was forcing them to stay closed. In that moment I remembered about vibrations, which are normal, so I tried to stay calm. But, the eyes were to open so much that it confused me and the heart started to beat very hard...
when the shaking calmed down I opened my eyes, stood up from the bed, bu there was no phisical body. :)
Plis comment...Im confused because I dont know if the bodyshaking could be the "vibrations which appear by projecting" or not.

It's good that you were able to witness how powerful the heart exercise can be. I have had strong vibrations from the heart exercise as well. My whole body pulsated so strongly that I was literally thrown off my physical body. That's the point when I decided to go to a specific place in the astral.
It's good that you were able to calm yourself down from feeling the overwhelming vibrations. My first experiences with this was frightful and I didn't understand why I was shaking so much. For me, it was definitely the split process. I've had a problem with the eyes too, I found that if I don't force to keep them close and at the same time ignore the vibrations, the split process comes more naturally. My body just starts to float up. You may even think that it is your physical eyes trying to open but it could really be your astral eyes. Next time, allow it to freely open and take a look at where you are.
A lot of my beginning experiences involved seeing my physical body. I don't always see my physical body and a lot of people have never seen their physical body but still manage to project to the astral. In fact, when I first saw my physical body, it really frightened me and it just resulted in snapping back to my physical body. Yet, everytime I tried an AP exercise, I wanted to see my physical body, because it was my sure way of determining that I was in the astral. Luckily when I discovered the courses taught here, I was able to use other techniques to verify that I was indeed in the astral. Flying and pulling the finger guaranteed a better way (of being less fearful) in testing where I was, than to see my actual physical body lying in bed. It was a frightening experience. Though I'm more used to it by now, I still get shaken a bit when I see it. It just takes time and practice. So don't worry if you don't see your physical body, it might even be helpful if you don't.
Next time you feel those vibrations, just try to ignore it and simply just continue to focus on the heart. In the past I have done this and I simply float up or find myself in the astral. AP exercises are definitely a lot of trials and errors, but experimentation, consistency and strong efforts are all part of the learning experience.
Congratz on your experience. Keep up with your practices!

Just about the shaking eyelids...they wanted to open...so, what do you think...should I let them open or what? I couldnt ignore the shaking of my eyelids, because they almost opened, I could ignore only the shaking of my body.

Yes,as mentioned above, you may think it's your physical eyes trying to open but it's a possibility that it's your astral eyes trying to open. No harm in trying to go with the flow. If you open them, you can do a check to see if you're in the astral. If you're in the physical, simply close your eyes again and continue with the concentration.
You'll find that it takes some experimentation with the exercises. That's the only way we can gain some insights into what works best for us.
Let us know how things go for you!

If I let the eyes open, I probably wouldnt know for sure yet if I projected. And if I then move my finger to check if it goes throught it, I could ruin relaxed state...I really dont know what I should have done. :))
The experience gave me a big impulse.
Thnx Jasmin for explanation! I'll report about my further happenings. :))

I was laying in bed and doing my AP exercise. I started feeling the vibrations that you mentioned above and my eyes popped open. I couldn't keep them close even if I tried.
I was then staring at my ceiling and said "Oh well, no success with this exercise today". I got out of bed, and proceeded to go to the washroom. I thought maybe I should go back to bed and do another exercise but I decided to go upstairs and open the front door. When I opened the door it was completely dark...I thought that was weird, it's the middle of the day...no clouds or sign of rain...then I decided to do a check. I jumped as high as I could and I floated up in the air.
All that time from my bed to the bathroom, I thought I was in the physical.
So cCasper, you really never know...I've tried to roll over and open my eyes several times and I did not find myself in the astral. It's OK, just start the exercise again...Don't worry about losing the relaxation...just start the process again. I know at times it may seem like nothing is working but keep practicing and in time it may just work out right ;)
All the best,
Jasmin
