I realized my problem isn't staying in the moment, it's actually wanting to stay there. What can I do besides analyse myself in circles about why I don't care?

Hi Apakhana,

It's horrible when entropy grips us, some differnt things I have done in the past to get over this are -

Read a book by a Master (particulary something I am not so familiar with)

Travel out into the countryside for the day if this is possible.

Listen to some music conductive to the work.

Pray a great deal for help and strength.

Also remembering what is at stake can help and do you really want to go around in circles feeding pleasure and suffering pain.

all the strength is getting out of this,

Marc

Hi Apakhana,

It might help to reflect back over your experiences with practicing awareness. What kind of impact does it have on your daily life? How does awareness affect your astral experiences? What are some of the other outcomes of practicing awareness? Are they worth it? What happens when you don't practice awareness for a while? etc... This can help put things in perspective.

It's great that you are noticing some resistance to doing the work. I would also investigate whether there are egos creating negativity toward the practice of awareness. For me, it helps to get to a state of objectivity so that I can make a conscious decision about what I want to do.

Much strength,

Gabrielle

I can relate to what Gabrielle said, when egos are getting hard on me, I use this to retrospect everything I have done, and sipmly push my concentration to a new level, I become stoborn and practice awareness as much as it is possible. This way the objectivity reapears and I feel my self standing on the battle field again. As harder it gets, the more interesting it gets to confront you selfs.

No compromises, fight for your will to be the way you decided to be.

When I am in entropy I look back over my most significant astral experiences and teachings. These remind me what I am trying to do and why I am trying to do it. Life has a way of trying to pull us back into its circus, into forgetting.

Perhaps you could try putting extra efforts into gaining astral experiences so that you have those to carry you through?

All the light,

Hello Apakhana,

Yes - why wouldn't one care? This is the worst of the scenario that takes work back many paces. Whenever we are not staying in the moment the egos are winning that moment and convincing us that it does not matter. And when we stop the struggle we ultimately lead ourselves to the feeling of - no care.

Entropy does not happen accidently. When what we have built has dodgy foundations - it does not stand the tests and the work falls flat and that is the time when egos try their hard to convince us not to work anymore. And to get out of that requires extra efforts to keep going.

Everyone here has given good suggestions - it is for you to find out what works for you. I have found that having just 10-20 minutes of a good concentration practise can get back the interest in work. If you manage to do a practise for once - you can do it next time as well, and this is how you find your enthusiam and will-power back.

best wishes,
Manpreet

So many excellent suggestions offered Apakhana,

Its also helpful to know and be reminded too that we all care, we all know to some extent to what your going through, and we all wish you the best in strength to carry you through this time.

This path is not easy nor is it meant to be. However with a simple word a caring prayer and a well wish we can do wonders for each other in good times and bad.

So Apakhana, I and I am sure all of us wish you much that can not be put into words

From what I have learnt the past five years on and back in the forums, is even when we drop out the vanities, mundane nature, Karma and suffering will bring me/us back:-) Hang in there for good dear.

Cheers,

From my experience, whenever i got these thoughts of 'why should i continue' , i also reflected a bit on the situation. Usually some ego of boredom or other ego's which prefer pleasure were present at that moment. If you manage to not give in to these thoughts/feelings and continue, you will indeed build up willpower. Sometimes it takes a lot to get back on track, but if you fight you will push yourself to another level.

Sometimes we have forgotten or cannot see clearly anymore, what it is what we actually do or need to do. Reflecting and doing spiritual practises really help.
