Read Chapter 21 (The Observation of Oneself) of Master Samael?s ?Revolutionary Psychology?. Study it very carefully and put it to good practice.Hint: Master Samael warns of a mechanical observation of oneself. It?s very easy to mistake this mechanical observation for real, conscious self-observation (thus the disintegration of the egos won?t work). There?s more to learn in Chapter 21, though.Conscious awareness (external) and conscious self-observation (internal), as the Master Belzebuub says: ?Like an archer drawing a bow.? What does it take to keep it drawn?

Yes, I have found this. There was a point where the observation became almost mechanical for me and I was not making any progress. I have finally picked up on it now and am struggling to get back to true awarness and self-observation. It is very easy to slip into mechanical ways, this is why I now understaand why the Masters urged so much that we must fight to be truly aware so much, because of how easily we can slip into being mechanical in our ways.

all the best

Hi Timothy,

ITs a great point for us to investigate upon. Are we alert to novelty? Are we alert to see and observe the next coming ego?

If not what else we think is the priority of our life? Do we enjoy the mundane life with enormous sufferings or are we prepared to take up the battle against egos?

The answer would only be making the gnostic work a priority and the only we aim/goal to work every day. That would be the effort taken to be ready for the battle or to draw the bow..

Keep up with your self observation.

Hello,

I've struggle with this too. One thing that helps me is the explaination from Master Samael that says we need to observe, judge, and then do the elimination. For me, I found that I was skipping the 'judge' part. To me this means really seeing that the ego is something that you want to eliminate.

Also, the teachings on 'resistance' at the beginning of the Revolution of the Dialectic helps to put it into perspective, as well. Each time we try to eliminate the egos, or do anything spiritual, there is a counter force acting against these efforts. So, maybe the mechanical approach that we all seem to fall into could be a manifestation of this resistance....making it so necessary to fight actively and push hard to keep up our efforts.

Much strength everyone,

Gabrielle

Thimoty, could you please explein more precisly
your meaning of mechanical self-observation.
I'am not at your level of esoteric work yet and
one thing that is still troubling me is the corect
awareness state or the right self-observation.
Because the way I understand it,one need to be aware in the same time of all 5 centers + senses
of smell,sight...But it is imposible for me.
So what is the way you suggest it should be?

Hello gyorgi,

Excuse my late reply, as I have been very busy with university work.

What I mean by mechanical observation is that one is looking within without consciously making an effort to observe and understand the egos. True self-observation is done consciously.

It takes a lot of practice to find out how to consciously be aware of your surroundings and consciously observe what is happening within. The awareness and self-observation can be explained up to a point, but to understand them, you have to make massive efforts to ?feel? them as Master Belzebuub says, as they are beyond the mind (awareness and self-observation are not mental things).

Persistence and a desire to truly experience and understand what is taught through the courses are key ingredients to success. Once you get awareness and self-observation right, you will understand how they work, you will have experienced them. After that, you must train yourself to do it moment to moment (as well as disintegrating the egos). With practice you?ll learn how everything works.

For myself I find that we all know what awareness is.
Do we?

Know in the most profound sense.

With our being.

Internally.

But then I start to think: "Am I aware in the right way?" "Awareness...ok, is it being in here and now?", "and it is also looking within and outside, at 5 centres and with 5 senses", and then it is activating the consciousness", usually, after that mind takes me out to something else...

For me, awareness is to put aside all mental, all subconscious and just to be.

It is not "to think to be", but "to be to be".

Some words can reflect it better than others, while awareness remains what it is... awareness.

All the best with "to be to be"!

gyorgi,

You might focus too much upon what it is you must do when infact it is just like Vadim says, just to be. When you focus too much upon your centers and how to balance them, try to listen to whatever is going on at the moment, see if you can just hear the wind or whatever it may be. You'll probably realize that there is never really any silence. I usually make efforts to listen to whatever is going on and trying to keep myself open to all new sounds and not thinking about the ones that have just been. This can take me out of confusing thoughts and have me realize where I am. When being aware, try to live with each and every heartbeat.

Hi all!
Just to adding on. What I've found is that the mind keeps sneaking in with all type of thoughts. I was reading what Master Samael wrote in Revolution of the Dialectic, which helps me now to come back to awareness. He says that the mind is like a clumsy donkey, so when the thoughts, images or any representation comes to your mind, and starts to take you away from the awareness you have to address it like this:
"Mind, remove from my inner sight these representations, I do not accept these from you, I'm your master."
Reminds us also that the mind shouldn't be giving us orders and taking us away from the awareness moment to moment, is only there to be used as a tool.

Thanks for this reminder Pris,
I like also the analogy of a computer full of viruses.

Gnosticweb is ANTIVIRUS then!
