Hello Paul,

Chances are you could have actually been viewing certain cities in the astral plane, but most of the time there are subconscious influences. These subconscious influences can modify or distort reality with our own ideas or subjective concepts about certain things. For instance, i could be walking down a main road in a certain city in the astral plane, but i could be changing the objective reality of that city street with my own subconcious such as strange colours, animals, etc.

It seems to be very difficult to remove all of that subjective influence and experience the astral plane totally objectively. This requires enormous efforts and understanding of how to activate the consciousness through awareness.

Also, many of the things we see in dreams can be symbols that are shown to us in order for us to learn about ourselves.

Kind Regards,

Dave.

Hey Paul,

I can only suggest that people who have truly spiritual experiences in the higher dimensions with beings or temples and other such places would have earned them through conscious efforts in the spiritual work. Speaking about experiences like that wouldn't really help people, rather it would be divulging privileged information. What would help people is by sharing the wisdom that it took to get such experiences, and so help them to have esoteric experiences for themselves.

Regards,

Jon.

I have MUCH to learn. How would listening to
to music effect your ability to go to the Astral.
I am a musician. I do this for a living now. Every day I write, play and record music. The band I'm in plays 10+ out of town gigs on any given month.
I want to be honest. I was hurt badly a few years back and got addicted to Morphine. O.K., to be honest, I over used Morphine to keep working,
I work on the side as a stage hand. We had alot going on at the time.
I went back to work way early, using pain meds to stand it and in the process messed up my ankle for life. It had been rebuilt with plates and screws.
Regardless I'm now on Methadone to get off the Morphine. My leg is ruined for life. I have another surgery scheduled soon. I'm slowly getting of the Methadone as I didn't get on it for fun or a high. I hate it. Hate what it takes from me. I am very prolific musically, but have to wonder where I would be if it wasn't for this.
I have always been attracted to the unknown and open to anything. I absolutely don't accept
that the reality I see is the only reality.
I have recurring dreams. Also for the Longest time I've been wakened by a Knocking. If I'm in my room it's
my window or wall or Bedroom door. If I'm on the couch it's the front door. Usually it's a very intense urgent knock.
It's happened while awake several times and I run to
the window/door to find nothing.
I just wonder, it'll be at least 6 months to a year before I get of the Methadone. I'm on no illgals and haven't drank in 7 years. I was an alcoholic, bad for 8 years. I have been in the DTs and have had seizures
from withrwals so I might be way to damaged to even consider this.
Any feedback I welcom.

Hello Christopher,

We have done many things, good and bad, not just in this life, but throughout our long time of existence. If we are to observe our life we can get some understanding on why some things happened and we can raise important questions about our desires, experiences and our attitude. It's all a gradual learning process.

If we are still here then we have our chance for understanding and inner change.

I suggest you to read some of the articles on awareness and self-knowledge. If you're interested, you'll have the opportunity to learn some effective techniques for achieving those once the online courses are up again.

best wishes!

Hi Christopher,

It sounds like you have overcome a lot of obstacles in order to get to where you are now.

Regarding methadone, you should still be able to practice astral projection while taking it. If you haven't checked out the Student Experiences section here (on the left), you can find some of the techniques taught in the Astral Travel and Dreams course and book.

The techniques are simple, you just need to be able to relax your body and concentrate your mind. There are ways to increase both of these skills given in the course. Other than that, it takes determination and persistence, which it sounds like you have.

If you are interested in doing other spiritual work, there are practice given in the other courses that can help to repair damage done from drug and alcohol use.

Best of luck to you,

Gabrielle

.... Plus it makes sense that structures resembling either high school or college auditoriums are used to house people from this forum that meet together in the Astral dimensions, since many of the Gnostic Web members are in their twenties and fresh out of school.

hello paul-

after reading this it brought up one experience i had in the astral. after leaving my body i asked to be taken to a gnostic temple. right away i was swept off my feet and was taken to flight. i'm flying through the clouded night sky not of my own volition, but guided by whoever answered my request. i'm enjoying the flight and not long into it i start decending. and i'm thinking to myself , wow, this is great i'm going to a gnostic temple. as i'm lowered down i see know temple. i'm being dropped in the middle of a parking lot that has a building off to the left. i'm thinking this is no temple, it's a suburbon neighborhood. but my attention is to that building and the side door into it. naturally i go to it and enter. as i do there's a few stairs that go down in the fist room. it was well lit and there was a group of young women sitting in a circle on chairs just talking. i go up to the group and right way i'm inconversation with them. it was very clear to me that everyone here was an astral traveler. it was like a night club for those who astral traveled. after talking to the girls i went to other rooms in the building. i went into at least four other rooms and each room something different was going on. there's much detail to this travel but i just wanted to point out that you might have something there in what you said with the above quote.
let me ask, in this experience not only i but many of the others had this glitter substance on them. this is the first time i encountered this and just wondering what it had to do with.

hello paul-

hey, thank you very much on giving me your take on what i wrote. i mean that and i welcome it.
i know when i left my body i asked to be taken to a temple. can't rememeber if i just left it at that, but i never ask for a fun place...my intent is always to stay on a path of spiritual progress.
just briefly on some of your questions: the sky was clouded but not to the point of no visibility. there was actually more sky then clouds. the parking lot was empty. and the building was actually to the right of the parking lot.
now, again i appreciated your thoughts because simply put, i lack in the area of interpertation of my travels or dreams. in this experience however, i was sure i was diverted from my request to go to a temple of learning. in fact as i went further thru the building and upon entering another room there was a young woman, brown skinned, performing some form of ritual and when she noticed me she didn,t want no parts of me in there. she came after me and i ran around alittle bit so she wouldn't get her hands on me. found the door agian and left.
and to shorten the experience...at the end i was being confronted by to young men an being accused of starting trouble with a girl, who when walked by me, poke me in my side and i felt a good amount of pain from it. so i knew thing where wrong so i willed my self back to my body.
anyhow i didn't put to much thought in figuring what that was all about but, you've givin me a renewed desired to go back over it and see what i can gleam from it
thanks - Christo

I had an experience with a city of pyramids once. Here's a quick image I rendered to give you an idea. http://lucidious.com/images/pyramid.jpg

There was a stone bed on the platform with pillars on each corner that were gold with detailed patterns extending all the way up. There were patterns carved in the stone bed as well. I had my own personal pyramid, and it was a place of power for me. There was a whole city of these pyramids. The place seemed alien, like humans were not the only visitors of this strange, but familiar place. Different meanings I'm sure, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Hey Lucidious,

Welcome to the forums!

Hmm...I visited a city of pyramids, too. It was a long time ago so some of the details are fuzzy. I remember there were pyramids, and they were different in some way from the typical Egypt type pyramids...not sure about those tops like in your picture.

I do remember stone and carvings, and I think wooden plank-type roads going around, almost like you might picture a wooden bridges going everywhere.

If I have time I'll try to go back and find it in one of my dream journals, now I'm curious to remember more details.

Interesting!
