A tip that most people may or may not be aware of is that you shouldn't eat at least 2 hours before you go to bed... especially things that cause heartburn (pizza, etc)! This will more often than not cause nightmares or odd dreams. I'm infamous for doing this to myself!

Yes, it is true for me too, if I am really hungry, I just eat fruits or yogurts, drink kefir, juice...something light, you know.

Hi,

I always try to keep clear of cheese and anything else rich before bed, strangely I have also found that eating watermelon leads to me having nightmares?

all the best,

Marc

I did it last night again... and I didn't even eat that much! Had some of the worst nightmares I've had in a long time...

Hi,

Eating well before going to bed is always usefull to prevent nightmares; if they do come up, they can be related to our own subconscious.

The Astral travel and Dreams course teaches us a lot about the astral and dreams/nightmares and the relation they have with the subconscious.

Thanks Martijn L,

I have been through the courses a couple years ago. I am aware that they are related to the subconscious in many ways, but it is also a fact that eating too much right before you go to bed can do things like give you heartburn, which in turn can lead to nightmares. I can't remember the exact scientific or esoteric reason, but I know it has to do with lowering vibrations, which in turn can put you in the lower dimensions while you unconsciously project at night.

I've experienced this many times until I found out this information, then I stopped eating late and didn't have nightmares for a long time... until recently, when my eating schedule has been messed up for various reasons.

I think it is very personal, what to eat and how much, before going to bed. Not to be hungry, neither have a full stomach...balance is needed.

Just apply a common sense, intuition, investigate what is right for you!

Yes, subconscious leads us to eat too much (egos of gluttony), so work with it is always great and useful.

I have heard that it is not good to eat before meditation too coz the energies gather more in the solar plexus and I suppose that because the solar plexus chakra is the centre for personal power and fears that's why nightmires occur when you eat before going to bed.

Hey Drenette,

Welcome to Gnosticweb!

This is purely theoretical for me, but I read in one of Master Samael's books about how if you overeat it can have an affect on 'inferior' chakras in the abdomen. Then when you sleep this sends you into nightmares.

To much better conscious sleep! :)
