the other night while lying in bed ,I decided to abandon my attempts at astral travel and just'stretch' out my awareness/consciousness and see if I could see or hear anyone/anything. In a half instance I decided it would be a good idea to think try and talk telepathically with a girl with whom I had lost contact with some years before.so I phrased a few words in my head (hello ,how are you?)etc and just sort of broadcast those words to this image I had in my head of this person.Nice romantic daydream ,I assumed and let my mind go quiet as I drifted off in my 'telepathic 'trance. The next thing that I knew was a loud female voice ,almost metallic sounding and very very scary hissed "STOP IT!" at me.Completely out of the blue,I had no thoughts at the time,I was perfectly calm,so you can imagine how much it scared me.I took a moment to disintegrate the fear ego and drifted off quite timidly to sleep!Any thoughts?

Hi Kev5376,

Depending on the stage you were in, it could have been a negative entity or an ego. I've heard strange noises and voices when I've been in that state between falling asleep and being awake. Often it is the egos that we hear as they leave the physical plane as we fall asleep. Perhaps this is what it was. I can imagine it must have been a bit startling!

No where near as startling as the last time I got out of my body ,I got attacked by an exact mirror image of myself and it wasn't nice,I posted it under attacked at the moment of separation.

I'm having enough of these incidents to know that something definitely doesn't want me to achieve any new levels of awareness. I can only put it down to negative entities , they are the only ones with anything to lose if I achieve anything.
The thing is its only going to make my resolve that much stronger so why do they do it?

hi Kev,

Their goal is to stop you so they will do anything they can to succeed and it also seems that they are pretty sucessful as they are are able to scare lots of people back into their body or do something to them which will make them lose their awareness in the astral and start dreaming. In either case they are are just trying to stop us from investigating the astral consciously. It is very good that they are making you resolve even stronger instead of scaring you. This will help you to deal with them in the future and will allow you to stay in the astral longer.

You can try using conjuration while trying to concentrate on them and see if it works. Because if our conjuration lack strength they won't work.

Good luck,

Yes Kevin, practice the conjurations to perfect them and learn how to pronounce them while being as aware as possible during the day or before going to sleep. The next time you meet those entities, send them running in scare from a concentrated conjuration you prepared.

Much strenght in practice.

Hi Kev,

Glad to hear you're getting strength from the setbacks, rather than letting them put you off. I had an experience like yours once where I was doing an astral practice and almost asleep when I heard this loud voice say 'Watch out!' right next to me head. It put a quick end to my astral practice! I've also had other experiences like you mentioned which showed me the importance of drawing a circle of protection (taught in the Astral Travel and Dreams course) when trying to project.

I was also told something interesting once by a teacher, which I realised was quite true. He said that when the negative entities attack you it's done from malice and spite and trying to stop you from progressing, but they can actually help you because in the way they try and stop you they highlight the things that are holding you back. So for instance they might try and make you angry or scared or lustful (and they seem to pick what they think will get to you the most), and through that they show you what you need to work on during the day.

That said, it's no fun getting stopped all the time, so the recitations mentioned and circle of protection are great!

Good luck for future experiences!

David
