Hello,I had gone to the cinema to watch a movie. I was feeling fine, at the time. During the show, I felt at times intense discomfort or pressure of somesort. I thought I was going to jump out of my seat, not being able to take it anymore. It made me feel as if I was going to throw up. But I was enjoying the film. So what was this? Could I have been feeling the emotions of the people in the cinema, or was it my own egos? But this was very different. It didn't seem to belong to me.Best Wishes,Beyonder

Hi Beyonder,

I've felt the same thing you describe when I used to see movies a lot. It would also occur when I watched a particular TV series that was very suspensful and exciting. I would get so wrapped up in it, that I would feel physically ill--even though I felt like I was enjoying the show.

After carefully observing myself, I realized that what I thought was entertaining was really just egos feeding off my energy.

Egos are highly telepathic, so you definitely could be sensing the egos of others at the movies. Also, environments like the cinema (where there are constantly emotions running high) tend to get saturated with a certain type of energy, so that could relate to what you feel.

Dara

Hi Beyonder,

Egos don't belong to us, it can be them, or larvae.

It is hard to be aware watching most of the movies they make now because usually they are designed to work with a low emotions, egos.

If you want to watch a good spiritual movie, there are some of them actually recommended by Gnosticweb.
You can find them in "Art" section.

Good luck!

Thanks for your replies.

It seems that along the Path, there comes a time when we must give up certain things (well obviously), and also simply because the things we normally did before, now makes us uncomfortable (which may be a good thing).

Hi Beyonder,

It's not just giving up things - it is rather a very good exchange: animalistic and inferior gets gradually exchanged for superior.

All the best!

Hi Beyonder,

This is what is called a passive ego. Its easy to forget ourselves to do the inner work and be fixed in the cinema, the egos feed us more and more.

Sadly a cinema which is not spiritual, feeds us with more and more egos. When we self observe ourselves we find we get more uncomfortable. As if our essence inside is not happy.

You are right about the uneasiness and it is certainly brought by the numerous egos that feed us during the time we watch it.

It is not a rule that we are gnosis and we should not see movies. Its perhaps an experience of truth that as we improvise in our inner work we feel lot uncomfortable to be in a pub or cinema or certain parties.

As we get used with self observing whats happening in our inferior centers, we know its like buying egos while watching a not so spiritual movie.

Like for eg I find I can bring awareness while watching Excalibur and its not so possible when you see other kind of movies.

Its a good start and keep up with your self observation. Sooner we will find that why not I spend those hours trying an astral exercise. Thats our own understanding; we guide ourselves towards light and not back to darkness.

Regards,
Juliana

I heard it was larvae that effect us in cinemas. So I went to one outdoors, and I found that you felt what others felt, and that was no good, because there was lust even in a children's movie...I couldn't help but feed the egos that the masses around me were feeding. I very much regret having watched some films...lust...

Most movies nowadays stir up negative emotions and it is quite sad really. One cannot go to a movie anymore without there being some type of violence in it and most movies have some scenes that can cause lustful thoughts.
