Hello all, my name is nya and i am sooooooo out of date with all that i once knew as a child and was too scared to continue until now...now i just feel out of sorts and soo behind in my growth...

any-who...i have an experience to share and i hope to get some (positive) feedback.

During the months of jan. to april 2008. i have had many blind experiences that i cant explain but the one i want to share right now would be a possible OBE or Astral Projection. Im unsure as to which....

here goes...

I am still having a discussion/disagreement with my mother-in-law, who clearly recalls talking to me; in the kitchen, one Early Sunday afternoon. She said i was there and i seemed to be listening to what she had to say, then she turned her back to me and when she turned to face me again i was gone. she said she wrote it off as my being rude for leaving in the middle of her conversation or i was in a rush and had to go, but she would talk to me about it at a later time

Now this is the odd part.

I was in another city over 30 minutes away all day-from 6:30 to 5:30pm. Now at about the time she said she saw me I was nodding off from exaustion. I wasnt really sleep but more or less trying to recharge because i was sooo tired.

so...i was in and out of conscienceness and i was completely aware of my surroundings as i meditated. now there was a single thought on my mind right before i closed my eyes. HOME.  I remember being so relaxed that i felt as if i was floating in a cool pool of water (not too warm and not too cold). No tensions no worries, all was at peace at that point in time. (I have only felt this way once before, when i had my near death experience.)

but back to this story...

Then the vehicle i was riding in hit a bump and i felt my breathe skip as if i was choaking, as if for a moment i forgot how to breathe. I continued on my daily task feeling slightly recharged but yet sooooo drained. Now this feeling of being drained was different from being tired. I cant really explain it other than feeling as if my insided (spiritually) were upside down or backwards.

When i arrived at home, my mother-in-law had words for my rudeness....? She said she didnt appreciate my leaving the way i did and she was talking to me in the kitchen at about 11:30ish. and it was like i just vanished into thin air. I told here that i left the house at about 5:45am and i am just now returning (at 5:45 or so). She told me there was no possible way i was in the other town at the time i said because she was talking to me earlier that day.

Well to date we still laugh and disagree about it but i know where i was and i know i could not have been at home when my physical body was 30 minutes away from the house.

Can anyone give me their feedback...and remember i am senastive...

Thanks

nya omeka

Hello nya,

Thanks for sharing your experiences, they are very interesting. I personally wouldn't be able to tell excactly what you and your mother experienced. Anyway , Astral projection is actually an OBE that we can have by relaxing and focusing while falling asleep. Then we go to the astral consciouslly, which can be an amazing experience.

In a way, the astral is nothing of the other world really. We actually go there every time we sleep, so dreams also take place there. What happens in dreams is that we see the imaginary projections of the subconscious. With astral projection we practice so that this doesn't happen, and then we can go there without loosing awarness and experience reality. So what we do is to focus on something, I personally like to relax and focus on my heartbeats.

Regarding your experience, I really can't tell from my behalf, but I wouldn't worry much about it. ;) It's good that you are interested in astral projection, it is really inspiring to have a conscious experience in the astral!

kind regards,
Mauricio

Hello Nyaomeka,

Due to the nature of experience, for me it's hard to tell you for sure what it was for you.
It could be a real astral experience!

Concentration on the single thought in the moment of sleep is the way to be conscious in the astral plane and being very relaxed is conductive for astral travel.

You can find a lot of information about what is the astral travel and to learn astral projection from the free course in dreams and obes given on this website.

All the best!

Hi Nya

OBE and astral projection is essentialy the same thing. OBE is a general term for when we become consious in the astral dimension. Astral projection is a consious effort to go to the astral dimension while the body falls asleep. Our astral body goes to that dimension every time we go to sleep, but unconsiously.  The best thing is for you to subscribe to the astral course where you will get a greater understanding of the topic.

I have never had such an experience but my guess would be that you projected to your home as it was the thought you had as you fell asleep.

It is possible that your mother could see your astral body which is a rare ability which also develops as one walk the spiritual path.

All the best with your investigations

Hi Nya,

I don't have a good explanation for the phenomena your story describes, but I feel as you appear to feel that there seems to be something extraordinary about it.

Because parents and their children are so closely involved, it might be possible that your mother saw you as if you were physically present, although in reality you were only there in the higher astral dimension.

Whatever the explanation, I appreciate the story. The everyday and the exceptional are sometimes no strangers to each other, but it takes some consciousness to be able to notice those occasions.

I identify very much with the words you open with, about being so out of date with all you once knew as a child but were too scared then to really pursue and come to better understand.

I wish that both you and I (and all on the Gnostic paths) may come to the marvellous understanding foreshadowed by our early years on the blue sky planet.
