Melbourne Meditation Retreat
Posted October 29th, 2008 by Steve B
Recently, students from the Melbourne centre enjoyed a weekend meditation retreat.
Practices focused on experiencing the causal plane including: Koans, Duality, Mindfulness as well as the occasional Mantra. We practiced indoors:
and outdoors:
We also went on several walks to practice anchoring ourselves in the consciousness…
One student commenting that one of the walks reminded him of the wheel of Samsara…
In actual fact we were indeed walking in circles... the mind was still untamed...
Discussions were held:
Well, the retreat wasn’t focused on the astral, but here is the blog-essential jumping photo:
And, it seems an Aussie retreat would not be complete without:
You can never tell whether his eyes are open or closed under these glasses
Rob’s Colonel Hat
The Retreat Mascot (In search of the Holy Grail)
Who is that?...
Could it be?...
Oh no! It seems a Sydney bloke has infiltrated our retreat!
Scott, instructing Diarmuid on the finer points of communicating with Melbournites. “Hold eye contact, if they approach make yourself look big by holding your arms out”
Some of the wildlife
Sleepy Dog... The dog gets to sleep, but we have to practice!
Late at night, early in the morning, in the daytime... we were building momentum...
The flowers disappeared in the night-time, reappearing in the dawn:
However, once we had disciplined our minds, dinner was a little quieter than usual…

It was a peaceful, refreshing weekend
