You can obviously use the banishment techniques taught on these course, which can be effective depending on the entity(if he has a low energy etc). There are however many ways to banish and get rid of entities, some more effective than others. One of the most effective means I have encountered is to burn White Sage incense in the area and room you want cleansed from entities.

White Sage is a plant used by for instance the native americans, and is a very effective plant when burned to cleanse space and banish spirit beings from the area. If you chose to use this, get it in a bundled dried up plant form... I do not suggest sticks or "incense form", but the traditional and natural dried up plant, which is then burned so as to emit cleansing smoke.

When it comes to banishing beings though, there can be cases and times when the being choses to return. This can be particular the case with spirits which has made themselves at home. In such cases you need to be consistent, and cleanse frequently and often (anytime you sense spirit, and every day until fully gone). This will then banish the spirit out of the home and room... And if you keep this up, eventually he would get tired of it, and chose to leave... Some give up faster than others, and if it is a new spirit he is likely to leave permanently imidiately on first cleansing. In the end when it comes down to stubborn spirits, it is all a matter of "battle of wills", who of you get tired first... But if you keep it up, and truly cleanses and make life very difficult for the unfriendly spirit (friendly ones would be more keen to listen... ;) Then by logic you would succeed and win.

I do of course not know anything of your situation, so might just need one cleansing... What the point is though, and what is important, is that there are ALWAYS ways to get rid of unfriendly spirits.

You can also do commandings in the manner "I banish all spirits and beings from this area in the name of (blank)". Where "blank" is high energy names, such as ancient hebrew names of God and archangels. If you do this strongly enough, and perhaps also imagine tracing a cross or pentagram in the air (point up), you might find it effective, depends on your case though and what names you use etc. But the White Sage incense is very very effective.

I'll second Patrik's message about white sage, very effective. There are a couple of other ways that work very well (in my experience.)

One is to keep a small bell handy and ring it when you sense the presence. The other (which I find useful to after the sage/bell banishing) is to mop the floors with water that has rosemary in it.

And the cross/pentagram idea works well too. For me though there's little point in tracing a cross if you are not a christian or a pentagram if you are not a pagan. Any powerful spiritual symbol from your own chosen path will do the job well!

Would just like to state, so as to clarify my point above. That in my oppinion that beliefs doesn't really have anything to do with the symbol drawing in these cases. But that some symbols simply have a very strong possitive energetic charge, regardless of the origin or initial source of such symbols. The pentagram for instance (with right side up) causes a lot of trouble and are not very well liked by unfriendly beings, regardless of source or personal taste in relation to such symbols.

From what I understand, symbols are actually universal, used as the language of the higher dimensions.

For instance, the symbol of pentagram is used in Gnosticism also, as one of the tools of protection, one angle points upwards, two to the sides, and two -downwards.
One of the meanings symbolizes spiritual victory. This is a great symbol of harmony and balance with mighty control to ensure it.
