Hi everyone, I have been doing the basic courses here at Gnosticweb for over 2 years, and have found the information on awareness and the elimination of the egos to be so valuable in daily life. I get a real sense of peace and stillness when I can become aware, and real relief from the egos when I practice the technique for their elimination. Ever since I started the courses, I have been sincerely asking my Divine Mother for an experience that will show me the reality of the astral - so that I can trust that the things I see in my dreams could be "real" rather than just my imagination. I would realy like to understand the truth, and not be led astray by accepting something without being able to experience and confirm it myself. In the meantime, I have tried to use Master Belzebuub's books as a roadmap - to point the way for my own investigations. I would like to say I've had success, but so far not ... at least not with confirming the reality of the Astral. And then today, I was speaking with a friend about the reality of near death experiences, and how that couldn't be refuted, and he asked me how I knew that the accounts of near death experiences were actually true, and not urban myths. So I said that there are lots of studies on this, with published results. He asked me if I had looked at any critiques of those studies and considered whether the questions that they raise about the findings of the studies were valid questions in the cirumcstances. Until today, I had never done that research. I had just assumed that the reported findings of the studies were as they seemed. But when I did a google search on all of this, and trawled through the results, I came across several extensive reviews of all major NDE studies, and found that the conclusions that were drawn by the original studies were not necessarily valid. What came from the critiques was that it was possible that real NDE had taken place, but the evidence could go either way. Now I understand very well that we are looking at a topic that is by its nature very subjective, but we also need to examine facts. And the thing that shocked me the most in these critiques was a report into the investigation of a very famous NDE experience quoted in Master Belzebuub's book "When I go to Sleep", where a lady who is having an NDE sees a shoe on the roof of the hospital, which she couldn't possibly have seen in the physical. This review of NDE studies investigated the report and discovered many things that questioned the validity of what the lady had said. What makes me a little concerned is that the story in the book mentions the shoe as being red, while in actual fact, it was a blue tennis shoe in the study. It was also mentioned in the book that the shoe was seen on the roof of a hospital, where in the critique of the study, it was mentioned that the shoe was on a 3rd floor ledge of the hospital, outside a patient's window. If you google "Maria's Shoe NDE" you will come across several references to the report and the problems it poses. It also shocked me because I realise I had "believed" an "acount of an account" of the study - which had turned out to be factually incorrect. It pointed to my need to believe, rather than to question and observe objectively. However, despite all that I've written above, I would dearly dearly love to know that NDEs and OBE are truly real, and not just part of a vivid iimagination. I also know that probably the only way I will ever confirm the truth, is to have an objective and verifiable OBE myself. As I mentioned at the start of this very long-winded post (I'm sorry...) I have really been seeking and asking for help to have this sort of experience for over 2 years now, and have had no experience that would stand up under real scrutiny, that I could swear hand-on-my-heart that was not from my imagination. And I would also really really really really (!) appreciate any information you could post about your own objective and verifiable OBEs. If you know anyone who has had one, please please ask them to post it here. Or put an entry in my guestbook so I can contact them personally. Or email me... (email removed inline with regulations of use of this site. Moderators) Thanks very much for reading through to the end, and I am looking forward to hearing of your experiences! It'svery important for me right now, as at the moment I feel I'm living through the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes"...

Hello Longtime seeker,
One time I laid in bed and was very relaxed and at that point I was very content in life, I seemed so relaxed and I thought that I was awake but something very interesting happened after a little while I started to float up from the bed and felt at peace within myself, I felt if something was calling me and I wanted to go where this floating feeling was taking me, the room seemed very still, very clear and was the same as the way it appeared physically I noticed my hand and it seemed different it had form but not quite as physical as normal then I felt the wanting to float up again and started to float up from the bed again and then the thought came into my head hey I'll take my girlfriend with me because this is amazing but hey I grabbed her hand and fell straight back to my body.
It was only when I came to gnosis that I learned what had happened to me.
Don't worry longtime seeker if you keep practicing you will get into the astral, some people experience things quicker than others but keep going. Try to find out were you need to improve to gain the experience sometimes it might mean improving in areas that you may not at first realise e.g. your awareness during the day or simply remembering dreams better because sometimes we are in the astral consciously but simply don't remember.
All the best

Hi there,
When you wake up from an OBE you know that it's real, there's no consideration that it could be imagination. Personal experience of it is what we need, so no matter how many stories are out there they won't make much difference to our own understanding in the end.
You're on the right track if you keep working, longing for an experience, and especially praying to be given what you need. Persistence is the key. It always pays off, we just need to accept the help that we do get, in whatever form it is. It's very often not as we would like ;). Just what we need, here and now.
All the best with it.

Hi,
I would also recommend attending a study centre. At a centre there are lots of opportunities to project with other people and then you can meet in the astral and verify it afterwards. This is fairly common for those who practicing diligently.

Hi.
It is good to share experiences with others and I can post what I have as as actual Astral experiences, but this will be my knowledge and not yours. So there will be no use for it.
Imagine this: If many people here say that the sun comes out at night and moon at day is this correct for you?
You have to investigate yourself otherwise you only exchange one belief for another. And this happens to the world right now as we speak. This happens all these years.
In Gnosis there is no theory, only Practice. With correct practice and understanding experiences occur (at some take less time than others).
By working with yourself, correctly, small bits of concious are released. And this also adds to the outcome.
The main problem for concious Astral experiences or the ability to stay longer to the Astral plane has to do a lot with Concentration. Investigate Concentration correctly. If you manage to be concentrated during the day this will immediately affect your Astral abilities.
We many times think that we know how to be concentrated by reading instructions. Yet this, also, needs practice, decision, determination and of course continuity.
By being so, you build so.
When you manage to do this you will not need other people proof, because you will have your own.

Longtime seeker,
I agree with others, nothing will give you more motivation and strength as your own experience of reality of the astral. As Monroe said, experience is certainly the best teacher.
I will relate something that happened to me when I was beginning this work. I had a vivid dream in which I was walking towards one unknown object and then I went inside. I had a good look of the building from outside and I also had a clear image of interior. About half a year (or more) later I had to do something in part of town where I live. When I approached the building in which I had to go I recognized it immediately . It was the same one as from my dream. I was even more surprised when I went inside and saw that interior is also the same. There's no chance I could ever saw that in physical since I was never at that place before.
Hope that help a bit

Hi Longtime seeker,
Here's a couple experiences I've had that came around in the physical.
One day I was taking a nap on the couch downstairs in the apartment. I heard a knock at the door, as I was very tired I did not answer it. They kept knocking rather insistently, and I kept ignoring it even more insistently :) So they finally stopped, I laid back down and was trying to go to sleep. Then I opened my eyes, and I saw a man coming over toward me, then he reached over my body and did something to the window, then he turned around and I followed him as he went up the stairs, then I drifted into a dream or something about half-way up the stairs...
A little later when I woke up I thought, ah that was a strange dream... But then as I lay there I heard something going on out back (there normally is nothing back there because all trees and brush you know). So I'm curious then, and I look out there and see a man on a ladder working on the windows a few apartments down. Then my intuition tells me a maintenance man must have come in to do something to the windows. So to verify I went around back and talked to the guy, he said yeah the maintenance guys had to go around and get everyone to unlock their windows because what they were doing required them to be able to open the windows! :)
Another time, I was being shown something, about a subject I normally wouldn't care less about, I then asked the voice where I could read about this, as in the physical, so he gave me a name, and I went and searched the internet for that name which I'd surely never heard, and found out he is a writer for this subject I was being taught about!
As others have said, the best proof is to start having these experiences yourself, so good luck! :D

In "The Emperor's New Clothes," what breaks the myth is the little kid (who has no job to worry about) chooses his own experience over the reports of all the adults who would normally have more authority than himself. But when it comes to our senses, we are sovereign. Nobody else is going to convince us of something that our own senses contradict.
I identify with Longtime Seeker in that I, also, cannot report any vivid successes in astral projection, though trying for at least a year. The dreams related to astral projecting have been extraordinary, though. Hey, maybe it's worth trying to project just for the amazing dreams you get! (Just kidding - that would be like that Ashleigh Brilliant quote, "I have given up my search for truth and am now looking for a really good fantasy.")
With me, I have projected before I tried any of the Gnostic techniques, once when I was trying to go to sleep while coming down off LSD. What can I say? I was an adult, and my powers of confirmation were the powers of an adult, and that experience convinced me. I could see myself asleep-looking on my friend's couch, I could go through the walls and back in again, and look at my physical body from any angle in the room or through the window from outside the room - I had fallen asleep with the light on. And it was easy, no strain, just "a fact." I didn't want to believe this, or have any agenda for disbelieving it, either.
I think that if it is your fate to have to be an entity who wants to, has to know, really know in an unconditioned, unlimited way, the curse of it is that everything experienced in or out of dreams is unsatisfactory. This astral experience was unsatisfactory for me, though interesting. The blessing of being this way is, it shows that you might have the rocket fuel to get you where you intuitively know you need to go. Somehow, we've just got to build those rockets.
It's easy to question things, and the motivations for questioning things can be truly inferior. Like, when ex-President Lyndon Johnson was running against someone for governor, or senator, early in his political career, he had his aides put out a story that his opponent, a man of "unquestionable integrity" had been seen doing let us say some very odd things with chickens. When the aides objected, saying, we'll never be able to prove this, it had no basis in fact, Johnson told them, we don't have to prove anything, we just want him to be seen denying it.
There's certainly a lot of evil wisdom in that. What I say is, we have to be skeptical of the skeptics, as well as the believers.
Best of all, as is said in the several posts above, is one's own experience, and, I might add, the power no one can take away, the power of thinking over one's own experiences in the courtroom of one's own consciousness.

I too agree with what everybody has said that it is better to work to have your own experience.
I have always wanted to get some proof about it but all I had were few astral projections and more lucid dreams thoughout the 2 years I think. Although I began to feel skeptical I was praying to be shown something. The answer arrived but I didn't know I already have it.So one day I was listening to one radio show about near death experiences where Mark Pritchard was a guest and one of the presenters was telling her NDE experience. At first her story sounded familiar to me and the more she continued the more I began to remember and when she mentioned one name I was absolutely sure she was talking about the semi lucid dream I had before. So this made me wonder how is this possible to happen.
So what she said was that she was with her boyfriend back then driving with the truck. During the travel she fell asleep and after some time her boyfriend fell asleep too. Then Laurie heard a voice that told her she was going to have an accident and she doesn't have to be afraid. So the accident took place and she heard a sound like puuufff and she was out of her body. She saw her body and what happened. She was out of the truck, she broke the window and had many broken bones. Her face was bleeding a lot. So her bf shook her body and she went back. The blood was running in her throat, she couldn't breathe properly and she couldn't talk. She was dying and she couldn't tell her bf to help her.
So as far as I remember her bf went to search for help.
Then there was a man that came to her and lift her up. He put his hand below her arms and etc. and she could breathe again. She was very grateful to him.So she went to a hospital and etc. and then she was writing a thankful cards. She told her bf than this person, thank that person and in the end she said thank the most to the man that helped me! Her boyfriend looked at her strange and said but there was noone there. She said there was. He replied no, you were standing up by your own. There wasn't anyone there. Then she made a comment that she had so many broken bones that she couldn't stand up by herself and that she couldn't see the man's face but she saw his uniform and the color of it and she saw the name-plate with Rex.
What I remember from my semi lucid dream was that I was in some kind of field and I was wondering what I was doing there ... then I decided to continue forward and see what's there. I remember I couldn't breathe because there was a blood in my throat. I wanted to talk and say I was dying but I couldn't and I thought this will be the end. Then I kinda became other person and I saw there was a man approaching. I knew he wasn't from the physical world and I was a little scared. I became the person who was dying again ..... I went in and out few times meaning I was the observer and the person in the event. Somewhere in the end of the dream I saw the man had an uniform but I can't recall the color and I saw the name-plate with the name REX. I remember that after I had this dream I went to search in google what REX meant and when I found out it meant king I didn't know what to do with this so I just left the dream.
So I contacted with this presenter and I asked her when this event has happened to her and I was trying to recall if I was already being in Gnosticweb. So what turned out was that she had this NDE a long time ago which lead me to think that probably I had experienced something from the past which was a big wow for me coz I had a doubt this is possible before.
So I wish you all the best with your search for truth!! :)

No doubt there is nothing like your own experience. I wish you the best may offer and hope you will find what is stopping you.
I have been with Gnosticweb over two years now. I too was frustrated with lack of conscious OBE. I had plenty of lucid dreams awakenings though and that was trilling in its self. I finally had my first conscious departure into higher realms this Sunday morning. After all this time.
I was not introduced to Gnosis at Gnosticweb, I was initiated into the mystery through reading books about two Cyprus Christian mystical healers, in those books few meditation exercises were given and I practiced them with urgency. It was meditating on light and filing my energy body with it. So the techniques in that are: concentration, visualization, and also from those books, you were advised to question everything you did that day and analyze what you did wrong. Sound similar to Gnosticweb, Gnosticweb filled in the details.
After about 2 to 3 weeks doing these practices I started to see results such as being able to detect heat on my body where I was placing light with my visualization technique, I also started to feel the heat of a table lamp that was across the room. I had been awakened in lucid dreams that when I look back were packed with teachings for me.
What the techniques try to do through visualization or awareness, or mantras, or Alchemy is to conserve and direct energy to your energy body (vital body, alchemy reaches higher). When you restore vitality to your energy body, your energy body becomes balanced and easily connects higher up. When we fall asleep like a downed timber, it is because we are depleted and need sleep to restore this vital energy. We are ejected form our body (according to the mystic healer) so the body can be restored, as our wakeful state causes imbalance that depletes the body's energy.
Well enough of lecturing, my Sunday experience started Saturday evening after a long day of rest. I have attempted to OBE that night had the vibrations when focusing on my heart beats, the vibrations were getting very strong to the point it became uncomfortable and I became too exited, as I always get. So I gave in and fell asleep. I slept like downed lumber. I awoke Sunday morning earlier then normal, so I decided to try again, I said my prayers to my divine mother and started focus on my heartbeat. It did not take too long to feel the heartbeat vibrations. Again excitement was rising. I thought about what I have read about Alchemy from Hindu perspective "Consciousness becomes enlightened when energy rises". Well I applied visualization technique on tube of light that I slowly pulled up from my feet to my head while the pulses of my heartbeat were getting louder and my body was radiating light. As soon as I have pulled it over my head, sound and pulsing sensations stopped and the room was becoming lighter until I was able to see black and white pictures on the wall. I moved down the wall and the pictures started to be in color. They were portraits of some people, my intuition told me that these were victims of some event in the past and the present and that their fate is still happening today to others. I backed away from the wall and there was a shelf above the pictures holding boxes and DVD's and VHF tapes. I new this was some research and memorial. I heard my son's breathing and looked on the bed there was my youngest sleeping, I realized that the room was bright and I did not wanted to wake him, so I looked at the light and reached for the pull string - the string fall off just as I touched it. I tried to reattach it so I was looking for how to put the chain back - mind took over analyzing this task - I woke up again.
What is spoiling my projection is the mind - excitement - so by applying light visualization with concentration on heartbeats, kept the mind from analyzing things. Mind is full of ego programs. Mind is what was stopping me all this time. This was the closest I got to conscious split ever.
This remind me of a painting depicting the Buddhist path to mind liberation - Samatha.
First we see monk chasing after monkey, elephant, and rabbit that are running wild. The monkey and rabbit depicted in full red color and elephant in full gray color. Next we see the animals slowing down with little bit of white showing on them. Next the monk manages to lasso them and white color is increasing, both animals are still pulling on the robe pulling the monk behind, next we see the monk gaining some control over them - white is about half now. Next comes monk leading the animals that are now tamed and obey as long as they are on the rope. We see next the animals fallowing the monk without a rope - white is about sixty percent now (we must free our consciousness at least 50% or more). Next the animals are almost all white they lead the way together with the monk, next we see them rest at the end of the path. And finally we see the monk riding the elephant across a rainbow - consciousness fully liberated - mind being fully controlled by consciousness.
As Scot said of his LSD's days, he was out just like that - LSD shuts the analytical mind up, but not recommended for you have no control and anything goes - that can inquire more karma. Think of the negs - you have no defense at this state.
I had split from dream before about a year ago, but I just woke up from sleep into it, what proceeded that was at least half a day of practicing deep (full lungs) deliberate slow breaths (again concentration and being aware). That particular episode was in my house , at night with the same dark lighting of the evening. I heard my son get up to go to the bathroom, I felt playful so I gave him chase to the bathroom to see who will win. That is when I came through, felt paralyzed as I opened my eyes and witness my son returning to bed. After little while my paralysis past and I was able to get up to use the bathroom my self. That was my moment of definite proof for me.
Wishing you all a great spiritual morning.

Hi everyone,
Thank you all for your help and stories. As I mentioned above, I have had lucid dreams and have projected as well, but the experiences are ones that I couldn't swear to in court - was I really just dreaming or imagining it all??? ...
I know it's something I have to experience more of for myself to truly understand, but it's also good to hear of others' verifiable astral experiences - I think it helps when you're investigating to know that others have gone down that path before, and so there WILL be a way - you just need to find it for yourself. It hopefully stops you giving up at seemingly dead ends...
So, please if you have a verifiable astral experience, I would love to hear about it. I know it doesn't "prove" anything for me - but it makes my investigations more positive and determined...
Thanks!
