Got an idea to help the world? Here's $10 million

September 24, 2008, CNN

Got an idea that could change the world, or at least help a lot of people? Google wants to hear from you -- and it will pay as much as $10 million to make your idea a reality. The ambitious Internet giant is launching an initiative to solicit, and bankroll, fresh ideas that it believes could have broad and beneficial impact on people's lives. Called Project 10^100 (pronounced "10 to the 100th"), Google's initiative will seek input from the public and a panel of judges in choosing up to five winning ideas, to be announced in February. "These ideas can be big or small, technology-driven or brilliantly simple -- but they need to have impact," Google said in a news release. "We know there are countless brilliant ideas that need funding and support to come to fruition." People are encouraged to submit their ideas, in any of 25 languages, at www.project10tothe100.com through October 20. Entrants must briefly describe their idea and answer six questions, including, "If your idea were to become a reality, who would benefit the most and how?" The project's Web site suggests that successful ideas should address such issues as providing food and shelter, building communities, improving health, granting more access to education, sustaining the global ecosystem and promoting clean energy. By opening the project to anyone -- not just laboratories or universities -- Google is embracing "crowdsourcing," the Internet-age notion that the collective wisdom of mass audiences can be leveraged to find solutions to design tasks. Those who submit winning Project 10^100 ideas will not be required to have the technical expertise to implement them.

I reckon Mark Pritchard/Belzebuub has ideas that will "have broad and beneficial impact on people's lives" and which will ultimately address all those issues mentioned. But I don't think he would enter this competition nor accept money from a corporation anyway. Such support needs to come from individuals. Yet I can't think of anyone I would trust more to do something good for humankind with such a sum of money.

If only the world valued more what he has to offer us and wasn't held in the grip of old traditions or suckered in by the fakes or latest shallow fad.

The latest feature video on Mark's website is somewhat related to all this - http://www.belzebuub.com/node/418 and is well worth viewing for this and other reasons too.

At one point in the video he asks us have we considered how fantastic it is to be alive. Fantastic indeed! And what's more, to receive these teachings. Freely given and for my part gratefully received. I wonder why he says its even better to be alive now, in these times? Is he just referring to modern technology and medicine etc or something else to do with spirituality or just that here we are now knowing about the spiritual work and with the opportunity to do it?

I'm sure there are millions many more people out there who would find these teachings beneficial but it will take a lot of resources to get the message out there above the din of everything else competing for people's attention.

In this regard Mark needs our support. We are all part of the solution. It is one of the best ways for us to show appreciation for having received the teachings ourselves. We need to get the message out there and be good examples of the teachings.

Anything with such a large amount of money being offered tends to make me a bit suspicious.

Gnosis could certainly change the world :)
If enough people were interested... but that's not something we can sell, or put a monetary value on. Though I doubt that's what they have in mind anyway.
