Sydney Gnostic Centre Update
Recently we have trialled a new look to our main practice room, inspired by the picture above "The Knight of the Holy Grail" by Frederick J Waugh, 1912.
We finally settled on the arrangement below.
And we have also set up a book shelf in the kitchen area which has our "In the Loop" notice board on top
We also established a book shelf in the Gnostic Cafe and we set up a great gas heater for the cooler months.
Here we have Cheryl, Jiri and Harry reading away whilst the earlier courses are on.
Next, we installed some plastic weatherproof sheeting (which someone kindly donated to us) on top of the pergola to ensure a dry passage between the main buidling and the cafe.
Richard and Colm applied their expertise to acomplish this task. Richard performed some acrobatics to remind us he still hasn't lost his skill which he showed us last year when painting the side of the building. Here he is calmly keeping perfect balance on the top step of the ladder, no easy feat!
Colm drills one in
Rich loads the drill with another screw whilst balancing on the ladder like a professional
and he does not miss his mark
Here they are amongst the tree tops. That's a huge Avocado tree behind Colm which overgrows the garage roof.
Unfortunately the fruit never comes out any good, it is always too hard.
Colm does some precision drilling.
Another new feature is our new A frame
Last Saturday we had a half day of practices and a barbeque lunch. All voluntary donations received on the day went to help the International Admin fund. We started off with two mantra practices of about 20 minutes each. 1st was Om Mani Padme Hum and then we did Om.
Lunch was next. Below, Harry cooks up a storm after Joel got it all started for us.
Left to right: Joel, Chery,l Jiri and Colm (slightly off camera) wait patiently for the cooked lunch to be ready.
and by the way, Jiri says "Hello!", meanwhile Joel and Shane guard the fruit bowls
lunch is ready, come and get it
After lunch we watched some of Belzebuub's videos of his Talks in Quebec (http://www.belzebuub.com/movies#tabs-vidtab-9)
Left to right: Priscilla, Cheryl, Colm, Shane, Joel, Jiri, Harry, and David.
First we watched "Why be in the Present Moment" - http://www.belzebuub.com/node/295
A little later we watched "Towards Inner Peace" - http://www.belzebuub.com/node/368
Everybody got a lot out of them and it was like having Belzebuub in the room with us.
We also did a few more practice sessions in which we focused on some meditation techniques.
It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
That's all for now from Sydney.

Great Blog Dave. Centre
Great Blog Dave. Centre looks fantastic, well done guys.
I hear the best way to ripen
I hear the best way to ripen your avocado is to put it in a brown paper bag with some other fruit and leave it out on a bench for a few days.
Great blog too!
