Brisbane's Fund Raiser at the Markets
Over the course break the Brisbane Centre organised a stall to sell second hand items at the flea Markets.
Teachers and Students got together all their unwanted belongings to help raise funds for the International Projects.
It was an early start to the day, we got up at 3:30am in time to get there for a good position.
I don't think Shannon's a morning person :)
Adam, Sofios and Dimi standing around, it was a very cold morning.
We barely had time to get the gear out of Jon's Van AKA The Sub, before eager bargain hunters with their torches were rummaging through our stuff. It was on for young and old we were selling stuff as it was being taken out of the Sub.
Here's a picture of our set up and Adam displaying the items for sale including the white board itself.
Jon stands beside our A frame of the courses that we offer, there were a few people who were interested I spoke with a lady who had done the courses before.
Chris writes down the value of the hot plate it was unused, practically brand new.
Adam and I standing around freezing. Then I show Shannon my Jedi tricks to sell the white board.
It was a full on day we always had people haggeling us for things, the help from everyone involved kept things moving at a fast pace.
Below Cam shows a chap how to use a telescope while Sarah stands guard at the clothes section.
Jon shows off his sense of fasion as he was a big disco goer in the day.
With all this action going on we quickly became hungry and luckily Dimi had prepared something earlier fried rice for everone.
Say Cheeeeeeeeees
As the morning disappeared so did the crowds, we packed up the last of our things and headed home.
We mannaged to raise some well earned funds for the Movement that will go towards helping the International Projects and Websites.
Thanks to everyone involved and those who donated their goods for this cause.
P.S Unfortunately we couldn't sell a casette and vhs of New Kids on the Block
so if anyone's interested let me know :)
