Is there something weird about electricity & the astral body? I was in the astral and I had my back to the TV. The TV sits up high so that it is at the level of where my head is when standing. I had my back to the TV and my astral hair started getting sucked or pulled by the TV. It was a pretty strong pull. I yanked myself away from it. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced electricity or something like that in the astral. |

Hi Dusty.
I know that Robert Monroe mentioned electricity several times in his books. A number of times he found himself out of body and in the vicinity of high voltage power lines. He realized that there was a connection between the astral and electricity, but didn't come up with any explanation why.
Also, he did an experiment where he managed to leave his body while he lay in a charged Faraday cage. He tried to pass through the walls of the cage but couldn't, I think he described the walls as giving a little as if they had an elastic property, but he couldn't actually pass through them.
That's a pretty neat experience you had.

On a related note, it has been discovered that many ancient Egyptian pictures/statues of their royalty depicted them holding a cylinder in each hand. Some of these so-called "Wands of Horus" have been unearthed, with one of the pair of cylinders being copper, the other being zinc. This would create a potential difference across the body, causing electricity to flow. With all the mystical abilities the ancient Egyptians had, I guess it's no surprise that electricity was involved as well.

Wow, that's interesting about the Faraday cage. Kind of scary too. What if someone created something that would keep us all trapped. Makes me think of that giant machine that they're putting online this summer (see the God Particle) post.
My experience was like super strong static electricity pulling my hair. I didn't yank myself away, but pulled myself away and the further I got the weaker the pull.
That's interesting about the egyptians. Did you ever see that battery they found in Iraq? It was from ancient times.

This is very interesting. Did Monroe also try a "skip" out of the cage?

Hi Fish.
I looked up the passage and Monroe didn't go into much detail about his time in the cage. I'm sure that there would be ways around the barrier (for a Master it would probably be a piece of cake).
