i did that, for experimental reasons, and it did as i said, i felt a lust type ego arising, and i said, i acknowledge, you are there, and i no longer need you, (for spiritual development), and now i ask you to leave, and it did.?
so im wondering, does perhaps acknowledging egos, somewhat lesson, there compulsion to use your energy.

just to add.
you can literally feel the egos, move forward and out, of your body.
its interesting.
when you tell them, you acknowledge them, thank them, for helping you, spiritually, (because they have, in some way shape or form)
be honest when saying the above, literally focus on the ego, when saying it.

It is possible to develop a certain amount of control of how much the egos are allowed to affect us, but that doesn't mean that they go. It's just that we've kicked them out, for the time being. Refusing to feed them does weaken them somewhat, but, significantly, by going against them we strengthen our own willpower. Not feeding the egos is a start - but they can and will come back in unless we remove them permanently, which we need to appeal to the Divine Mother for (taught in the Gnostic Wisdom course).

That's my experience of it anyway.

It's good that you see you are something separate from these states, the egos, that what we really are is something completely different. Otherwise even the practice of the Death is just a mechanical thing.

"you acknowledge them, thank them, for helping you, spiritually, (because they have, in some way shape or form"

That's a good point Jahfonde I think...egos bring so much disaster and trouble to the world and humanity, Belzebuub wrote something like "ego is the worst enemy of a person", and yet egos are one of the means for spiritual growth.
We extract light out of darkness. Egos help us to learn and to become a better people...well, when we fight them the best we can.

The technique you've mentioned may be a way to find confidence and understand strength over egos.
Wish them to leave and they just leave.
It may help also with a search for answers:
"Who am I?" "Who am I not?

That is a good point because sometimes we might deny them or be in denial that they are a part of us, just because we are taught they are wrong or an identity with spiritual pride causes us to remain in denial we are that terrible of a person.

I think it is interesting that there is a very thin line between Satanism/Black paths and White ones. The difference being that we aim to eliminate the false identity and the black paths aim to incorporate these things into theirs.

"We extract light out of the Darkness."
I have found that a particular quote for the black path which is claimed to be straight from "Belzebub" is that "The Darkness is Light turned inside out."

We walk the razor's edge indeed.

I think we need to be clear on one thing though, and I'm sure we can all agree: there is nothing spiritually good about the egos.

Nothing helpful about them, if you ask me.

Hi Liz,

Oh I agree, there is no such thing as a 'good ego', even though sometimes our egos can try to convince us otherwise! But without them we couldn't do this work, for that is what the work is all about, extracting the light of consciousness from the darkness of the egos. So while I agree with you, I can see their necessity for our spiritual development.

Strength to everyone!

Without egos we wouldn't have knowledge of them, we wouldn't have knowledge of nature, of what it means to be of the earth, so of course it's necessary that the essence goes through this process of descending to earth, acquiring egos, then hopefully overcoming them and becoming a spiritual being with knowledge of earth. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. :)

I agree with you both, of course :-) How could we possibly learn the lessons the egos teach us if we had never experienced darkness and opposition? I just thought it needed to be said that it's not like the egos play the role of friendly helpers, pitching in wherever they can to help us grow spiritually, quite the contrary they would ruin our spiritual work entirely if given the chance...
