I have been wanting some guidance on a situation, so my goal this week has been to get into the astral to seek a teaching about it from my Divine Mother. (Lesson 1: I find I have success when I have a genuine goal as my drive and all activities work towards achieving that goal).

So I have been focusing on concentration, awareness and the mantra La Ra S during the day in preparation of the astral practices at night (Lesson 2: you need to put in the work to get the results).

Last night before my astral practice, I prayed to my Divine Mother for her help and guidance. This is something I don't do enough of, but last night I really prayed to Her with all my heart.

I didn't project, but had all the sensations of splitting so knew I was getting close (the times I checked I was still in the physical).

Then early this morning, I was in the kitchen washing dishes when I looked out the window and there was something in the landscape that looked like a cartoon. I looked closer and saw another one, and immediately thought 'hey, this isn't right I must be in a dream'!

I pulled my finger and it didn't stretch, but I didn't give up. I pulled again and again, but it still didn't stretch. It didn't feel like a dream, it felt real. But I knew it had to be a dream, so then I tried putting my fist through the ceiling and it glided though! Then I had confirmation it was a dream!

Immediately I had the feeling I had done this many times in dreams and stopped questioning when my finger didn't stretch (Lesson 3: My questioning during the day has not been genuine enough, and you need to be sincere when you question where you are, and then to check and double check).

The first thing I did was to grab hold of some furniture, because as I have learned from past experiences if you hold onto something it helps you to stay grounded in the astral for longer. Then I looked around at my surroundings, studying my kitchen for anything unusual, and everything seemed normal.

Then I asked my Divine Mother to give me a teaching about the situation. And nothing happened! Then I asked again and took a little jump (on other occasions She has taken me somewhere for teachings) and again nothing happened. So then I thought perhaps what I need to see for the teaching is in this room, and looked around again, but couldn't see what it was.

This is when I woke up.

After I woke I realized I wasn't in the kitchen at all, rather it was the en suite to my bedroom which was clouded in a subconscious projection of a kitchen. Not only that, it didn't look anything like my kitchen, or a kitchen I had ever seen for that matter! In all likelihood my teaching was right there, but I couldn't see it because of my subconscious projections.

Lesson 4: I need to work harder on my awareness during the day to bring more clarity to the astral.

Lesson 5: NEXT time, when I study my surroundings I need to really question them. I looked at my fantasy kitchen and everything seemed normal, but if I really questioned, then I would have realized I was still stuck in my subconscious. Assuming it was normal wasn't enough – which house was the kitchen in? Should I be in that place? What does my kitchen normally look like? If I had really studied the surroundings and questioned as I did so, I would have cleared the projection.

Lesson 6: Don't give up and use these lessons for a more successful experience next time! Wish me luck :)

Hi Amy,

That's a good job! I also try the finger pull alot and it doesn't streach, so you see we all have our own different ways to check. Sometimes I even jump and nothing. It gets really hard because the line between waking and dreaming is so thin.

I remember a situation similar to yours, where I know I am dreaming but can't seem to make use of it. There's a lot of little lessons hidden within what doesn't happen as well as what unexpectedly does.

Hi Amy!

Tanx for sharing! It really is amazing to hear other people having very similar experiences which are, nevertheless, completely subjective! (..well, maybe subjective..who knows?). I remember also pulling my finger in a dream and at the time was sure that i had adequately determined i was NOT dreaming because my knuckle joint felt so solid and real, and despite pulling at the joint i couldn't budge it a bee's dick, "dang, i'm not dreaming after all!" I thought, BUT i was!

So... Amy.. your post is very encouraging, thank you again and can i ask you a question, because i'm learning too? Have you had any success with conscious astal projection from the fully conscious state ie not through lucid dreaming?

And, if so, which was your first experience?

Hi Amy,

what a nice experience! Even if you didn't get an insight on the situation you were interested in, you still got a lot out of it. And I am sure you won't stop now and will eventually get your questions answered. :-)
I am also doing this often, praying for being shown, asking for insights into situations, problems, or things I am not able to understand with my limited consciousness. Sometimes then I am shown at least something in a form of a feeling, something that feels right deep down, even if I can not quite explain it with the logical mind or put it into the words.

Good luck in your efforts!

Andremus,

Yes, I have has success with conscious projections, more so than waking up in dreams actually. My first one was toward the end the astral class in October 06, it was the first time I took the course.

At the time my problem was I was having all the sensations of splitting (vibrations etc) but I would get distracted by these and would ruin my concentration and the practice. This one time I was determined, and when the vibrations began I stayed concentrated on my heart.

Next thing I knew I lifted out of my body to about a 30 degree angle, but silly me I didn't want to get distracted by anything happening to me so kept concentrating on my heart beats.

Then all the sensations stopped. I thought that something had happened to ruin the practice so I kept focusing on my heart and then I must have fallen in to a dream. When I woke I realized I had actually split and this is why the sensations stopped, I just needed to get up and didn't!!

But since then I have had a few successful projections, some really good ones that where very clear and I have been able to get teachings and also investigate information given on the courses.

Keep practicing, even unsuccessful practices are worthwhile because each time you learn from them and can implement the lessons for next time :)

Strength to everyone!

Amy

Hello Amy,

Thanks for sharing your experience and the lessons with us. I deal with the same issues (being fully conscious during the day, sincerely check the reality) but without such encouraging results. Your lessons are a great help too.

All the best.

Hey Amy,

Your first experience must have been quite profound - knowing you are not your body. Wow, you must have been so concentrated that first time! Thankyou for sharing it - it is helpful to everyone, especially me! Those very clear projections sound interesting too..have you related them at all in another thread?..would love to hear about them..

Yes, you're right about using unsuccessful attempts as feedback..sometimes easy to forget that!

Thankyou again Amy,

Andremus
