Well, I was having a pretty cool dream, when all of the sudden I became lucid. Knowing this, I started flying, and surfing along a dirt road. At one point I stupidly told myself, "Wait! You can't fly!" and I crashed to the ground. This is when the dream began to fade. I was becoming too aware of my body on my bed, and I managed to fly for a little while longer before losing the experience. So then I'm aware that I'm on my bed. I must've been awake for a split second after the dream, and then fell back asleep consciously. Either way, I let myself feel like I'm floating away from my body. I got the similar buzzing sensation, which I must add is way stronger than I thought it would be. First time projecting a few months ago the feeling scared the crap out of me. Not so much now, as I fully split from my body, and slid away from my bed backwards, falling off the end, and backing into my desk. Now I know I need to get away from my physical body ASAP, so I stumble to the door. The experience was so real I actually thought I was just stupidly stumbling around my room with my eyes closed. The farther from the bed I got, the clearer my vision. When I reach to turn the handle, my roommate opens the door. This is when I must have lost awareness, because my roommate was not back yet, and I started to slip back off into a dream. I stumble backwards, and fall to the floor. Now there's a bunch of friends around me, laughing at how much of an idiot I was for thinking I was projecting. Emotionally, this got to me, and soon I was awake on my bed, quite amazed. Now, is it possible that these people in my room could have been negative entities trying to stop my experience? Using embarassment and humiliation to get my emotions worked up. I had no problems with the projection until the others showed up, and then it was one of the worst feelings I've had. Overall it was a good experience, and I could definitely tell it was a real projection, at least the first part, and was not a false projection by dreaming of an astral projection. Any tips on how to get further? |

Hi Ben,
Good to hear you're having success!
I think those people might have been negs as they try to stir up egos to take us away from the experience, or they could be part of your subconscious. When I first started practising and having some experiences, I remember I had those fears of people finding out what I was doing and telling me that's all stupid shown on the astral.
Something you can do is pray to stay longer in consciousness. Belzebuub also suggests in his book to grab onto something, while in the astral, if you feel you might be drown to your physical body.
good luck

That is great you had that experience. I find the more experience you get the better you will get.

Hi Ben,
Well done for your experience, it's great that you've seen that fear can be over come with experience in the case of the buzzing sensation that you mentioned.
Large emotions can hamper and even stop astral experiences as you've experienced, during the day try to sense these emotions by being aware as you can of the moment and try to feel if there is any emotional feelings that spark up during the day, particularly when you're interacting with other people or working. If you get large emotions during the day those same emotions repeat at night in the astral and can cause us to come back to the body when conscious in the astral. So if we can be calmer during day those emotions won't affect us in the astral as much.
All the best

Hey Ben! Awesome stuff. I've had the same type of experience. Once as I came up and out of my body as I floated just above the bed, my girlfriend sleeping next to me leapt up out of bed and attacked me. I was so spooked I woke up immediately. Of course my gf was still there sleeping soundly.
Another time as I was projecting I felt my bed break apart beneath me ( I sleep on a bunk style bed thats 5 feet up) The bed literally just fell apart, and smashed to the ground. I leapt off at the last minute and stared wide-eyed at my wreck of a bed. Unbelieving how my construction could have just gave way like that. I woke up a moment later, in bed, everything was in one piece.
I think the first example was the work of neg's trying to spook me, but Im pretty sure the second example was just my own subconscious.
I think the best thing to beat these situations is to get up and get away from your body. And then spend a few moments really trying to be aware of your surroundings, don't feel pressure to fly out the window and shoot to the moon, but just stand there and be aware of your senses and your psychology. That helps you see alot clearer.
And failing that, sometimes I use this technique for an "emergency evac" of my local environment (I know i've got some pesky neg always giving me a hard time in my room/apt). As soon as Im out I ask my Divine Mother to take me somewhere or give me a teaching, and then I just try to hold on like riding on a rocket and be aware for as long as possible to learn what I need to learn.
Hope that helps a bit.
Keep going!
