Is this a misprint on page 170 Para 7?

"Karma is paid not only by the evil one does, but also for the good that one does not do when one is able to do it."

Hey Dusty,
Yeah i thought about that to when i first read it.
I think it means that if you are in a situation where you can help someone, but neglect to help ie, someone has had an accident on the side of the road, and you do not stop to help there is karma for those actions.
thats my understanding anyway
hope that helps
Chris :-)

Hi Dusty,

It would be better if the translation said "made" is also my opinion.

I noticed lately that my number of posts has crossed the 300 mark and I was wondering if I might be a bit too gabby. Till I noticed your even more impressive count, that is. AND you started a couple of weeks after me. (Is that right?)

I'm just teasing, as usual. You live in non-center cities, like we do, ya gotta POST!

Anyway, when I look through Samael, my inner editors do get generally restless and my fingers twitch if they're near any blue pencils.

LOL Scot,

Yeah, I think I spend too much time posting from ego based questions. What I'm going to start doing is reading, doing the work, meditating & praying for understanding. Once I do that and still have questions, then I'll post. I just got that today from this:

pray to God to make it clear to him; for the knowledge of this great Secret is rather a gift of Heaven, than a Light acquired by the natural force of reasoning; let him, nevertheless, read the writings of the philosophers; let him meditate; and, above all, let him pray: there is no difficulty which may not in the end be made clear by Work, Meditation, and Prayer.

If I feel I can post something that will help someone, then I will.

Thanks for your humor,

Dusty

I have the original in Spanish - can't guarantee that it's correct but here it is anyway:

"Infando, absurdo y hasta ingrato habría sido negar tan urgente auxilio. No sólo se paga KARMA por el mal que se hace, sino por el bien que se deja de hacer, pudiéndose hacer."

So apparently the original said "pay" and the translator went with that.

(I wish I knew how to write stuff in italics but alas... The relevant words are "se paga".)

But I think we can be quite sure that the intended meaning was 'made'...

:-)

Thanks Liz,

To put things in italics you would type a less than sign and then the word cite and then a greater than sign at the beginning of the text you want to italisize. Then at the end of the text you want italilsized you type a less than sign, then a forward slash, then the word cite, then a greater than sign. Like this only no spaces:

< cite > words you want italisized < / cite >

You can also use the em tag as follows (only no spaces between)

< em > words you want italisized < / em >

bolded is as follows:

< strong > words you want bolded < / strong >

If you want to italisize and bold text, then you use two tags "stacked", as follows:

< cite > < strong > text you want < / strong > < / cite >

italisized
bolded
both bolded & italisized

It's called HTML tags and the ones supported here are listed at the bottom when you make a post.

Thanks Dusty - I figured it's probably a straightforward thing to do, I'm just not very smart at those kinds of things :-)

Testing, testing, 1 2...

Neat.

Well, you're smart enough to get it once it's explained!

Dusty! This is so COOL!

There are many kinds of enlightenment on Gnosticweb . . . I've been wondering about how to do this for years.
