John 14:22

Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot , Lord how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us , and not unto the world?

Jesus answered and said unto him , If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

These things have I spoken unto you , being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name , he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid.

What is this peace that you read about in this scripture?

You might have already experienced that peace in you - the silent mind, free of ego's callings, the pure essence in your presence. There you are one with God and the Christ. There you are no longer troubled nor do you fear. That is the peace not as the world giveth (our logical mind and instincts that coach us to do this or that in order to survive and experience desires, or the knot forming emotions of worry.)

Wishing you all a great spiritual morning.

Hi Tony,

It's splended that you posted at this time; I have been watching Dr. Zakir Naik's lectures on Muhammad's (PBUH) being prophecised in the Bible.

John 16:

1. “I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.

2. They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.

3. And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me.

4. But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you. I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.

5. But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’

6. But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

7. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

8. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:

9. concerning sin, because they do not believe in me;

10. concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer;

11. concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

12. I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

13. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

14. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

15. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

The greek word translated to Comforter/Helper means "advocate", or "a kind freind" which are attributes of the prophet, and he acquired the univerally acknowledged titles of "the trurthful", and "the trustworthy" even before his prophethood.

I posted regarding what the Quran says concerning Jesus (PBUH) in the following topic: http://www.gnosticweb.com/node/17639

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid."

The heart cannot really be consoled with anything from the wordly life, except only by glad tidings of the Hereafter.

2:62. Lo! those who believe (in that which is revealed unto thee, Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans -- whoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right -- surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

2:263. A kind word with forgiveness is better than almsgiving followed by injury. Allah is Absolute, Clement.

2:264. O ye who believe! Render not vain your almsgiving by reproach and injury, like him who spendeth his wealth only to be seen of men and believeth not in Allah and the Last Day. His likeness is as the likeness of a rock whereon is dust of earth; a rainstorm smiteth it, leaving it smooth and bare. They have no control of aught of that which they have gained. Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.

2:261. The likeness of those who spend their wealth in Allah's way is as the likeness of a grain which groweth seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains. Allah giveth increase manifold to whom He will. Allah is All Embracing, All Knowing.

2:273. (Alms are) for the poor who are straitened for the cause of Allah, who cannot travel in the land (for trade). The unthinking man accounteth them wealthy because of their restraint. Thou shalt know them by their mark: They do not beg of men with importunity. And whatsoever good thing ye spend, lo! Allah knoweth it.

2:274. Those who spend their wealth by night and day, by stealth and openly, verily their reward is with their Lord, and their shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

10:61. And thou (Muhammad) art not occupied with any business and thou recitest not a Lecture from this (Scripture), and ye (mankind) perform no act, but We are Witness of you when ye are engaged therein. And not an atom's weight in the earth or in the sky escapeth your Lord, nor what is less than that or greater than that, but it is (written) in a clear Book.

10:62. Lo! verily the friends of Allah are (those) on whom fear (cometh) not, nor do they grieve.

10:63. Those who believe and keep their duty (to Allah).

10:64. Theirs are good tidings in the life of the world and in the Hereafter -- There is no changing the Words of Allah -- that is the Supreme Triumph.

41:30. Lo! those who say: Our Lord is Allah, and afterward are upright, the angels descend upon them, saying: Fear not nor grieve, but hear good tidings of the paradise which ye are promised.

41:31. We are your protecting friends in the life of the world and in the Hereafter. There ye will have (all) that your souls desire, and there ye will have (all) for which ye pray.

41:32. A gift of welcome from One Forgiving, Merciful.

41:33. And who is better in speech than him who prayeth unto his Lord and doeth right, and saith: Lo! I am of those who are muslims (surrender unto Him).

41:34. The good deed and the evil deed are not alike. Repel the evil deed with one which is better, then lo! he, between whom and thee there was enmity (will become) as though he was a bosom friend.

41:35. But none is granted it save those who are steadfast, and none is granted it save the owner of great happiness.

peace and mercy
