Well I am no expert and I am just kinda starting with all of this but something that really helps me is I concentrate on the kinda ringing sound in my ears that you really have to concentrate on to hear. It seems to get easier the more you practice. But again, I am no expert. I haven't projected yet but I have gotten very close.

Brian,

You should first subscribe to the couses like the self knowledge and meditation courses.

After you gain all the information, the most crucial thing is patience and perserverence to really gain your own experience on the process of meditation and its benefits.

All the best.

Hope to see you in the couses!

There are several types of meditation. Which technique are you using specifically?

heh heh heh, join the Army, or just go to shooting range without ear pro, a few times, you'll find it a lot easier to listen to the ringing in your ears. I'm not an expert either but I have found this noise to be depressing, and a deterrent but I suppose that may be because I was drowned by too much of it. Not saying it won't work, just putting my two cents in. Personally, I like fire, candles work for me, especially when everything else is dark.

Sitting comfortably and concentrating on the breath is a good place to start

Hi Brian,

More tips?

Don't think about anything, don't even start thinking, and just enjoy this peace of mind.

Well, certainly there is much more to it, so I can also suggest taking the course in Meditation.

All the best,

When I was a like 10, my dad taught me to meditate this way: You can lay or sit down, close your eyes and just let your body rest and sink naturally. Starting with your toes and working your way up to your head, relax every part of your body muscel by muscel, try to do it paced and ryhtmic. Breath slowly and feel each muscel relax with every exhilation. I focus on the darkness of having my eyes closed, since its easier for me. Take your time, next thing you know your in a transe.

Now that Im older Ive come up with my own techniques, I like to close my eyes and imagine my self sitting in a tranquile place like a garden (for example) and just relaxing.

I hope this is helpful, I've never taken a meditation course, but this works for me and allows me to drift into the astral plane.

Good luck, practice and be patient!

Hi Brian Gangca,

Meditation is freeing the mind. I would recommend the meditation course here in the forums, its a valuable technique and you could learn it for free.

Regards,
Ju

Hi Trevor, you say you have a ringing sound in your ears.  Well, I get a faint ringing sound but only in one ear, and curiously enough, it is my hardest of hearing ear.  I do concentrate on this sound but it never gets louder and I haven't split yet.

i find the ringing in my ears to be a good way as well, actually. seems as though it's an underlying vibration which when focused upon, gets stronger and stronger until it finally turns in to the vibrations of splitting.
