Why do we practice?

This is something that seems to be emphasized lately by the Master, and in this Movement as a whole.

Why do we practice?

We need to practice, but we need to do it without looking at it as practice. We need to look into why we do practices, what is it that we want from the practice? What is it that we want from life? We need to find what motivates us. We need to look at our lives, where we are going, and what it will take in order to get there. It's not a matter of doing some practices or understanding some ideas. But it's a matter of wanting to change, wanting to face difficulties, wanting to help others. Why do we waste our time doing these things if really we don't even care?

We need to wake up and stop wasting our time. Our lives will be over before we know it.

Thanks Jim. A nice reminder.

Thanks Jim. A nice reminder. The point is to truly improve. It's helpful to keep in mind the big picture and realize that these activities are not something separate from everyday life. We want to make them the way we live all the time. There isn't a moment to lose.

Hi Jim, I agree, there is no

Hi Jim,

I agree, there is no point in wasting time. I think it is important to be honest with ourselves in terms of how we are doing, and always strive to do better, not getting comfortable.

We all came here to work so we should be giving our best effort.

Yeah, Jim, we need to be

Yeah, Jim, we need to be inspired and desperate for inspiration, too. And practising leads to both, I think. More power to it!

Yeah, guess it comes to...while practicing, who is the one who does it and learns from it?
Am I really practicing, or is it someone else in me, who does it, while I am psychologically asleep?

If consciousness is asleep, a "practice" can be running away from a difficulty in a daily life into a nice quiet practice room, doing a practice in a lazy manner, thinking about gradual improvement and tiredness, feeling pride about practicing, imagining those who don't...forgetting why do we practice...forgetting who we are...

"We need to wake up and stop wasting our time. Our lives will be over before we know it."

Thanks Jim!

I'm totally humbled by this

I'm totally humbled by this line of questioning ..

My soul has been asking me similar questions...
So I understand were you are coming from .

Hi Jim

An interest in the practice is also important. You want to know more about it, your motivation is better, if you choose something, e.g. for your visualization exercise, that is interesting for you.

All the best
