It seems that pork meat has this kind of characteristics that pollute the most important energy in the human organism. The outcome of eating pork is stirred egos of lust.
You can see the difference by actually trying to work with self observation and awareness and cut away any pork.

This topic is further discussed on the Gnostic Wisdom Course, so I think it may be better to get the whole explanation there, so far this is the most practical to know, I think.

It pollutes the sexual energies which are needed for the spiritual work. The effects are noticeable if you go a bit without it then accidentally have some.

I hardly ever eat pork, but after two nights in a row eating sausage with pork in it I can say that I now agree with you completely.
It's so weird that it feeds lust, how strange an innocent little piggy can do that.
Any other foods I should be avoiding?

I asked a teacher that same question last week on the retreat, he said no just pork. Although we joked about rats. Yeah you should avoid eating rats too :)

As the others have said, the consumption of pork is quite detrimental for the Inner spiritual work. It is most noticeable when you stop eating it for while and then if you have by mistake, you will notice that many more lustful thoughts start appearing wanting to rob you of your precious energy.
I am not sure what courses you have taken, but the topic of pork consumption is discussed at length in the Gnostic Wisdom course.
Of course, it is up to you to take this recommendation or leave it. But you can always just do a test and stop eating all pork and even packaged foods containing pork-based additives for a month, and then have some and observe the results within you.

Just to add to what Jim said, we can look into how different foods affect us on an individual level.

I know for myself aside from pork which always spells disaster, there are some foods I'd prefer to avoid.

Some foods I find are less conducive to my own capacity to be aware. Foods that are excessively greasy can leave me feeling very lethargic and negative towards the spiritual work, just as one example.

But again, it is an individual thing.

Pigs, rats, monkeys are devolving animals (heading back to the abyss). the molecular structure of pigs is also inferior- it's also a very unhealthy meat to be eating. there's alway turkey bacon! yum

Just a side note, many many products ie. jello, marshmallows, soap, lotions, toothpastes, deodorants all contain pork-by products. check out some kosher (jewish and muslim) websited for a complete list of kosher products as well at a list of non-kosher ingredients and you will be surprised as to how many things have pork-by products.
