a bit of strength :)

I started feeling a bit low earlier today. I was running errands and was having trouble staying in the moment. I got to a place where I had some privacy. It occurred to me to do a mantra. My next thought was that I didn't have much time and it wouldn't be worth it. Fortunately, I caught those thoughts that made poor excuses. So, I did the mantra without too many expectations. I didn't set a timer or even look at the clock. I just relaxed and concentrated on the sound. I felt myself focus quickly. It was one of my strongest mantra practices. I felt really good afterwards and as I stepped back outside, everything looked a bit more lively than it did when I last saw it. It gave me a bit of strength and carried me through.

Hi Gabrielle,

Thanks for sharing =D

I've found too that doing a little mantra can go a long way. It's nice to have one's feeling reinforced by other's people's experience.

I hope to see you again very soon - Geraldine

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks for sharing, Gabrielle,

It's amazing how strength comes to us when we make the effort to look for it when things seem hard.

This reminds me of something about the work and strength (not sure who said it), the main idea of it was that strength is always there, if we lack strength we need to do the work and it is there again.

Thanks for relating your

Thanks for relating your experience.

Those mantras are very powerful things!

Hi again, I had an

Hi again,

I had an experience today, that I can relate to yours.
Basically, it was a challenging day, things happened and I ended up confused and miserable and no matter how much I tried to eliminate the heavy feeling within, it was still there.
So, I decided to go to the park and look for some peace there. I sat on a lonely bench and vocalized mantras for a while. After I finished I felt different, although it wasn't completely gone, the heavy feeling wasn't that strong and I felt more clarity.

Before, I thought calling mantras magical is a bit exaggerated, but there is really something magical within the sound.

That's great, Gabrielle.

That's great, Gabrielle. It's almost as if one can go by the sense of don't-have-enough-time, by going against it. Whenever it seems that you're too busy to be aware, yeah, that's when you've Got to be aware.

Hello Gabrielle, Thanks for

Hello Gabrielle,

Thanks for sharing. I had a similar experience where my day was quite hectic and literally had things back to back. I managed to find time to do a 5 minute mantra. There were people all around so I had to start off internally yet it is still to this day one of my best practices.
There is a lot to be said for making time for practices, no matter how short.

Hi Gabrielle, Wonderful

Hi Gabrielle,

Wonderful experience!

Seems like finding a time for spiritual practice can really help to "free time" later from egos, increase quality of life and is a great investment to make.

Can relate...It's such a great moment when finish a mantra, open up eyes and see everything around alive and vivid, just as it is.

You too, Geraldine! I just

You too, Geraldine! I just found the paper that you wrote out the mantra Hare Ram on. That made me so happy/sad! I hope you are doing well.

Pavlin, I'm so glad you did that. They are magical in a way.

Adam, I was just thinking to myself that I'd love to do a mantra right now but there are too many people close by :) I am going to do it internally like you did though.

All the strength everyone,

Gabrielle

Thanks Gabrielle for your

Thanks Gabrielle for your blog. Its interesting how powerful mantras are. I had a similar experience with the Mantra O in a situation where I had to choose between two very similar options. I did the mantra internally for only a short time but I felt clear about the choice I had to make and I made the choice intuitively instead of towing and froing with the mind. It turned out to be the right one.

I cannot speak highly enough about Mantras, their effects are so uplifting and as you have mentioned you can experience their effect upon you instantly from doing them.
