I have more and more experiences with projection but i can not focus - no clarity. I experience a lot of spinning, everything too blurry happening too fast. At least it is less scary to be detached from the body, but the noise, the vibrations and almost pain associated with the split is still there.

It is as a rusty old plane is trying to take off in the fog - not every attempt is successful, flights are very short....visibility  poor....

I can do this almost every evening after good relaxation - tv , radio , music are not desirable at all, problems need to be cleared from the mind through serious retrospection. I calm my emotions with visualisations and mantras...but

I do not know how to strenghten the focus and "visibility" ....

Perhaps you should clarify exactly what it is you experience, and what the problem is? Do you just seem to float around while laying down, or do you leave the bed? Because you need to actively get out from a laying down position and bed...

The focus is blurry, how so? Do you have problems seeing at times? or do you always see just unclearly? Does it ever happen you see with one eye but not another? etc etc

Most people might have a hard time giving concrete advice here, as your description is a bit vauge...

Hi

I do not know if this will help you but from my experiences if any thought or doubt is at the back of the mind it usually happens. We have to be careful what we think. A long time ago I said I cannot see (I do not know why I said that) and I could not see anything. Try to ignore the noise when you get the sensations and accept it because I do not think you can do anything about it. Perhaps later on it will improve by itself. That is great you can astral project nearly every evening. I wish I can do that. My problem is I keep falling asleep but I am working on it. Have you got any tips on staying awake? Perhaps you try early in the evening and you are not that tired so you succeed.

All the best,
Sally

Hi UWO,

According to your description, I think the problem lies in the lack of concentration in general. I think many astral projectors have similar issues with clarity. Doing exercises like concentration and mantras daily will help to increase lucidity to a certain level, but in order to make astral experiences clear you must constantly fight mind chattering and remain focused on every single task during a day as much as possible. Simple to say, difficult to do.

Unfortunately, I do not think there is an easy fix to your problem and overcoming it will require lots of conscious effort and will strength. But having a vivid astral projection is surely worth all the effort.

Good luck and may the Force be always with you.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes - i lack concentration and focus in regular life and the chatter doesn't help. I do float sometimes and sometimes just can not fully split - it is like not having enough strenght or power or muscle ... I do have poor vision in general,  maybe my mind lacks clear vision.

I will spend more time meditating and practicing mantras. I fall asleep very quickly too, but i have a routine that helps me - as long i am stress free, i do not eat after 8 pm, retrospect, clear my mind, write my dairy, I am relaxed and enthusiastic about the practice - i project. When i am bombarded by daily tasks, anger, unsolved problems - i fall asleep thinking about all that. I also wake up at night at least once - it is the best time to practice for me. I never use alarm clock.

Recently i managed to remeber my dreams almost every night - it is a great progress. I hope i wil accept the noice and by more practice just find a way to navigate and use "flying controls" better.

I am also working on stubborn egos and i am not winning so far.

UWO,

It looks like we are basically in the same boat. I also have problems with a full split, and I know it is due to lack of awareness during a day since too often I am letting my mind to do whatever it wants. Frequently I would just float near to my body but it seems that regularly I don’t have enough strength and concentration to fully split. Regarding poor vision, 90% of my astral projections are in a pitch black and I have noticed that I must really focus and maintain concentration if I am going to see anything in the astral at all. It seems that being close to the physical body blocks my vision in some way.

Since while in the astral we do not use our physical eyes to see, I would dare to think that physical condition does not affect the quality of vision in the astral plane. It is great that you can remember your dreams; actually it is surprising how many different dreams we have in a single night, even during a short nap.

Please do not give up and keep on fighting the egos, they do stop us from realizing who we are and all of them must be fought and ‘terminated’ ;-)

Wish you much strength and consistency with daily practices.

May the Force be with you.

Thank you Suave - it is good to know that i am not alone with my struggles. I wish to remeber more dreams but two during the night versus - none for a long tme i consider improvement. Egos are the answer and i am not doing good job because the more i fight the more egos are acting up and it is a classical example of the inner battle - it gets worse before it gets better.

I am patient with self and see my own imperfections more clearly. When the example is too strong for me to accept i am in the denial ... as long i am gentle i make progress.... Almost as i ask myself for understanding and loving kindness towards my own imperfections. When i treat myself harsh the ego becames strong and stubborn...

Julita,

It is great to hear that you start remembering your dreams. I have a dream-diary and that really helps me to recall dreams, since I need to sit down and focus in order to write something down.

Yes, egos are the cause of all the troubles, but, repeating after others, I believe that without them we would not be able to learn anything. As you have noticed, egos do fight back and often with increased intensity. However, I also think that due to the continuous and conscious effort in self observation, we also notice them more often than before starting the spiritual work, when we just would not see as many defects within ourselves.

I think it is good to be patient with yourself as you are, and to deal with own imperfections without overreacting and antipathy. My approach to the egos is quite harsh…when I notice a major defect; I try to primarily focus on it and essentially ‘hunt it down’ as much as possible. After some time of ‘hunting’, when I start to believe that it has been noticeably reduced, a large outburst of that particular ego, mainly occurring in my dreams, brings me back to the reality. It seems that I am not progressing at all, but I am not giving up.

Wish you much strength with daily practices

Yes egos are fighting back badly now...everytime i say i am getting some results i am going backwards...Thank you for the good, wise words - my experiences so far are rather miserable - Pink Panther Returned and laughing, but i am finding first time in my life that i do have some saying in what is happening. I feel that i actually can improve - i accepted the process, i know results will come.

I just need to keep focusing and understanding what i am actually trying to disable, want i want to die to.

Daily practices are the key and i am searching forum for tips how to organize the best my own day to make sure i am here - not hijacked by own thoughts.

Strenght to all of us

Hi Sally

Concentration is the key for regular astral projection, it also helps with falling asleep to quickly.

You can try to get out of bed and to try the practice in a different room on a practice mat. You can also sit down comfortable and do your practice in a sitting position.
Other things can be a help, like making the atmosphere more magical, with incense, choosing a practice that is very interesting for you as interest in the practice is important.
You can also try midnight practices, after you have had some hours of sleep.
The group strength from the all night practices at the end of the courses is also a great help.

All the best with it,
jonny

Hi Johnny

Thanks for your advice. I have noticed a change with me lately. When I practice in bed I do not concentrate that well and I just want to turn over and go to sleep. When I practice in another room that is comfortable to me, if I put my mind to it, I seem to find it easier to concentrate and my practice is a lot better. I will forget about the incense because my husband does not like it.

All the best and good luck with your practices,
Sally
