Hello everyone, I am Neliah, and I am new to Gnosticweb (and also not a native speaker, so please forgive me for any possible vocabulay errors). I have been reading in the Forums for a while today and since you all sound so nice and sincere I thought, I could dare to share something as well ;) It's about a dream I had a couple of years ago that is still in my mind and even though I've always been reading a lot about dream interpretation I just don't know how to take that dream. I was there and there was this little girl with me, she was so cute and talking a lot and holding my hand and acting as if she knew me very well and was completely comfortable with me and she didn't look like any little girl I knew or came to know since. I got more and more confused and at one point just had to ask her, who she was. And she was so surprised, almost stunned, and said to me, Well, I am your grand daughter. (Well, I was about 25 when I had that dream, so imagine my surprise ;)) I've been thinking about that dream so often, wondering if it was just random, some little thing my mind snuck into my brain at night with no meaning at all, especially since I came to a place in my life (not when I had that dream, but with time) where I doubt to ever even have kids. So I keep wondering, why I had that dream and if I should even keep thinking about it. I hope this question is not silly. Thanks in advance. Neliah

Welcome to the forums. Your question is certainly not silly, but it cannot be answered right away. Many dreams are the result of the things we have seen or experienced during the day and give us insight into our psyche.
Apart from these there are also dreams which have a symbolic meaning or contain a certain teaching. When we observe ourselves during the day and study our dreams (one could write them down in a dream journal) we can gain a lot of insight. On the astral travel and dreams course a lot of explanation is given along with techniques to better remember dreams and how to interpret them (which is best done with intuition, a faculty which we can all train).

Hi Martijn,
thank you for your answer. I know it's difficult to answer my question but I thought I give it a try. :) I read about dream journals and I also own a book about dream symbols, which is always interesting to read, but difficult, since, well, it's never only one thing or object a dream contains and that makes it so much harder to interpret.
I don't remember what happened the day before I had the dream, but I remember I woke up right after the little girl said what she said because I was so shocked and had trouble getting back to sleep. Ad that seems so strange to me.

Your english is very good :)
From the symbol's guide in the Astral book for the course here, children usually represent a spiritual part of the person. Maybe that was why she was so familar with you and was walking along side you.

That sounds like a significant dream. I just wanted to add that their is a technique given in the Self Discovery course which enables you to activate an intelligent and intuitive part within us which can help us to gain the understanding of a dream.

Thank you, Gabrielle, and nice to meet you. You know, about the English, sometimes I know there are better words to say what I mean, but I just can't find them and I am afraid I sometimes use not the simpler way of saying what I want to say ;)
About the girl in the dream, you mean she was a spiritual part of me I have not (yet) payed enough attention to and that's why she knew me but I didn't really know her? That is interesting, thank you. :)

Yes, it could be something like that. The girl could represent a part of you. There is so much more to us that we can reunite with through spiritual work and just seeking it. Sometimes we can see this through the symbols in our dreams.
Maybe you will get another dream that gives more insight into this :)
