Awareness walk at the mountain of Troodos

Here in Cyprus, on Saturday, 28th of June, we had the opportunity to visit the mountain of Troodos in order to explore and experience within how awareness could be achieved while walking in the forest. 

The mountain of Troodos is a governmentally protected forest, and it consists of pine trees and many other types of trees.

 This was our starting point. The awareness walk along with the practices took three hours and a half!

The route took place nearby a small river, witch has crystal clear running water coming out from a spring, all over the year.

In almost every small lake, you could see trout fish, as they love crystal clear waters and they also like going against the current of the water.

Here Mr. Andreas reveals his secret powers! Like a contemporary Atlas, he manages to uplift at ease the huge rock, like Atlas was lifting up the sky, on his shoulders.  Old Mr Andreas (in Greek old is called "geros"), proves himself to be very strong (in Greek strong is also called "geros").  In Greek the words "geros" and "geros" are written in the same way and the only difference is the stress mark. Probably this means something deeper…

At the end of the ascension, after almost two hours of walking, we practiced mantra and retrospection

The difference was obvious in all of us, after the practice. There was a feeling of renewal, and awareness worked even clearer afterwards 

Here is the third Giorgos.  In two days he will join the army for 26 months (in Cyprus this is mandatory).

Everyone walked until the end of the fixed route, even those who thought that they could not make it. It was something that we all enjoyed and so we have decided to do it again.
