ive been having weird dreams, lately,
some not necessarily, in nature, but in the feeling and emotion they give.
i know they mean something important, but...
i dont know how to interpret dreams.

has anyone, ever got that feeling, that dreams mean, something significant?

Hi Jahfonde,

Yes, I think I know what are you talking about; when you wake up and remember an unusual dream (or a series of dreams) and you feel that those dreams were special, but you are not sure about their meaning. The memory of those dreams stays with us for a long time and frequently makes us ponder about their possible meanings.

I have learnt two things from those ‘weird vivid dreams’. First of all, the returning memories of those mysterious dreams may help to break daily routine and make us to stop for an instance and become self aware. Secondly, when weird and wonderful things happen in a dream and I still do not recognize that I am dreaming and take it as a reality, to me it is a strong signal that I need to push harder for self-observation and silencing my mind during the day.

Unfortunately, no-one will fully decipher your dreams for you. So I recommend writing any unusual and vivid dreams down in a diary, and one day their meaning may become clearer.

May the Force be with you.

Count me as a yes to that question, Jahfonde.

There's like a superficial conscious layer that just notices something's going on that it doesn't understand, then there's a secondary deeper layer that has taken an unusual interest in the dream contents but doesn't know why, and there seem to be deeper layers also that know things but don't explain, and then there is the profound source of very meaningful dreams that commands serious respect but gives only the riddle of the dream and seemingly cannot be questioned.

Like one of the gospels says, "and Mary took these things and pondered them in her heart". That's what we are left with also, when it comes to dreams that kind of look us in the eye and peer into our souls.

Scot has made an excellent mention of multiple "layers" of awareness in a dream that I too have experienced.

What I have learned from my own dreams is that a particular feeling can be associated with a waking life trigger.

It's not so much the environment but the feeling. If you are practicing awareness in life, you can recognize the things in waking life that trigger the same feeling in your dream and that is something there to reflect upon.

I definatley agree that what we identify with obscures anything important we are trying to figure out, in dreams especially but waking life too.
