Hello, yesterday night and after some time now, i had a vivid but short astral experience. Its been a whiile since my previous one and although there were many at first, the experiences have diminished lately. Before i went to bed last night, i prayed to my Divine Mother to give me a teaching in order to help me go on. I struggled until 3 o'clock in the morning and couldn't get to sleep. Anyway, i used the mantra RUSTI and after some time i finally found myself ready to depart. I won't go into extreme details about what i experienced because I believe it was a teaching for me. I found myself in a familiar beach where i spent my summers as a kid, i was into the sea to my weist and tha sun was so bright, the sunlight was washing down my face. That got me thinking why its day time there, it should be night.... I was totally conscious and thinking where i should try to go from there but nothing happened, I couldn't leave that place. I won't say anymore but to make the long story short, i believe it was a teaching for me, letting me know that my lust is holding me back from progressing. Since I'm in the second circle of lessons in the centre, we've been told nothing so far about how to deal with lust, except that we're still weak to deal with such powerful egos. Since I'm not into any sexual extremes, more or less like any other ordinary person, I don't really know what is so special with my lust and what things are involved in dealing with lust. Can someone offer any hints? |

Hi George!
For now, the best thing to do is observe when you see lust manifest in you. Are you taking the self discovery course? That course teaches how to self observe. I know you said you were in the second circle of courses..but I'm not too sure what that means exactly :)
But, if you can observe what feeds it and when it manifest the most, then, if you take the Gnostic Wisdom course later on, you can learn how to deal with it. For now you must know how to see it before you can deal with it properly.
Lust is a very powerful ego. It is cause of much misery. You don;t have to be into any sexual extremes..lust is in every human in varying degrees. It needs to be harnessed to be able to advance spiritually. Sexual energy can either awaken you or enslave you. Its that powerful....
I'm sorry I'm being very vague...I'm not sure what courses you've taken...

Hi katie and thank you for the advice,
yes I'm currently taking the self discovery course. I've concluded the astral projection course but i'm taking it again along with the self discovery course, i always get something more although i've had the same astral projection lessons before.
I'm a bit confused because what is accepted or not as a sexual practice or behaviour according to Gnosis was never mentioned in the courses at least so far and I'm a bit in the dark here.
I was expecting that lust would be something to be concerned about in the future but didn't expect it to come up that soon for me. I feel unprepared.
You're not at all vague but absolutely clear and i understand what you're saying completely.

Hi George!
Don't worry, in the next circle you will learn how to deal with it, what is accepted and what you should avoid. Observation is the only thing you can do know. But try to observe not only lust but all egos. You will be amazed to find that lust could be behind other egos as fear for example.

Hey George,
Yeah Katie is right, when you get upto the gnostic wisdom course, you will get more tools to deal with lust. But you are right it is THE worst ego to deal with.
Generally try to avoid feeding it at all cost. The more images movies/tv or scenarios that feed it will make it so much worse.
When you look even further you notice it in so many more instances like maybe the way you walk, or what grabs your attention, even memories. Often it can be too late by then, if you get trapped in it, just come back to your surroundings.
As Katie and Kassandra have mentioned the key is awareness (of course) if you are conscious of your activity you can prevent it.

Thank you all about your helpful insights.
What was really weird for me in this astral experience is that although I was totally conscious, i could consciously think why its day there instead of night and where should i go next, I could not control my actions having to do with lust.
Thats why i think it was a teaching letting me actually see that lust is controlling my actions.

It's good that you could use your intuition to interpret your experience.
These courses build on eachother. I quickly realized why. It seems to me that its better if you have sufficient knowledge and experience to be ready for some of the more advanced teachings...don't worry, just keep moving forward and everything will come together :)
