You guys talk about the "masters" and stuff like they control you. Almost like you lost your own say in your life, No offense just a opinion.

I think what you perceive is that you seem to get the same answers as they are thought in the courses here. When it comes to stuff behind the veil, for most of us it still is only theory, and thus when some of us are communicating about things behind the veil we use a "hear -say" knowledge. However there some of us that have been able to verify many things for our self in what ever small or larger way.

What many are attempting to do is to verify the teaching as well as share it. The best way to do so is to practice the many methods that are thought here.

When one speaks of things that one have not experienced, I'm afraid it is still ego of pride and lots of fascination with excitement towards the mystery. No doubt most responsibility falls on ego of pride, as the teachings can easily fall as pray to it and be hijacked from us. Thus as thought in the courses we need to stand on guard for every word and every idea that passes by and through us.

There is great wisdom to be found here, best is to stick to practice, all else is waist of time to which I personally have contributed plenty.

Wishing you all a great spiritual morning.

Hi Joseph,

No need to worry here; the word Master is a true spiritual title for someone who has earned that degree and has a lot to do with mastering our own emotions and thoughts, so instead of swallowing everything which is put before us, we look at things more objectively; actually quite the opposite of being brainwashed.

Hello Joseph,

"Almost like you lost your own say in your life"

From what I understand the roots of this problem lie within the psyches of all of us. It's so much easier to repeat someone's own opinion rather than to have your own from your own experiences and serious investigations.

I wrote a post about the causes of fanaticism sometime ago, perhaps you'll find it interesting.

Belzebuub covers the issue of transforming of a teaching into religion in the beginning of "Secret Knowledge, Hidden Wisdom" book. It is explained also in Gnostic Wisdom course.

Best wishes,

It's good that you mention brainwashing on a gnostic forum. Many people call themselves gnostic and have brainwashed themselves into believing their own presumptions and invalid opinions.

There's alot to watch out for, especially the belief/doubt trap, and it's best to understand exactly how things happen not just take people's words for it.

What is it that they say? "Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear or are told."

Most everyone can and would agree that the best thing to do is be aware.

Hi Joseph,

Rest assured that there are no intentions of brainwashing here :)

The intent of the site and the courses is to provide people with the tools to investigate spirituality themselves, not to believe a bunch of theories or to become a follower of a particular "Master."

If we investigate the spiritual for ourselves with things like astral projection and self-observation, we begin to uncover some very profound truths about the structure of the universe, life and the world within. These sorts of investigations are essential for spiritual development.

The term "Master" here in no way signifies that such a person is in control of us. That's a title earned when someone has progressed enough spiritually that they have a very deep understanding of the esoteric. They are then also a great source help for those trying to progress spiritually.

Your concern is a good one, though because even when we realize the above, it's still very easy if we are not careful to lose sight of this. On a closing note I'd say the onus is on each of us to practice and experience so that we don't just become believers or followers.

Best wishes,

Mike

Hi Joseph,

No offense taken :)

Everyone, regardless of his beliefs, is welcome to use the courses and the resources here on the website to learn astral projection. Plenty of people learn from the astral course, for example, while belonging to other religious/spiritual groups or remaining atheists/agnostic.

There is a lot of Gnostic talk here on the forums, of course. You can, however, definitely benefit from the resources without becoming a Gnostic, accepting that there are Masters, or joining anything. The astral techniques are effective, regardless, if you try them and are objective in approach.

Best,

Gabrielle

the word "master" can be perceived in many ways, one of them being, "a ruler", but i asure you, Gnosticweb does not associate itself with any ruler, so..

Maybe we could all use a washing of the brain :)

Really though, there are such things as spiritual Masters, few of which are here in the physical right now. They tirelessly help others to achieve the incarnation of their own Master.

In any movement with a real Master, there is still the danger of turning things into a belief, even saying "I don't have beliefs, just experience" can become a belief. Unfortunately it is pretty common to reject a Master or his teachings, because of the seeming brain-washed-ness of others. For instance, how many people do not even read the four gospels from the Bible, because modern Christianity has completely trampled the pearls which Jesus gave us.

You'll see me referring to the Master Belzebuub (the author of these courses) pretty often. I didn't come to the courses with any ideas about it, just wanted to learn astral travel. Started practicing and having experiences, found out you could call a real Master in the astral plane and see them face to face. Since then I've been able to verify quite a few Masters, so you might see me talking about them often, because each one is a great inspiration to me and each one has helped me through so many difficulties and errors on my part.

So then, I'm sorry if I come across as brainwashed, maybe that's what most people think, but you know, learn to explore the higher dimensions and everyone thinks you're crazy, oh well.

Hello,

I remember I was once almost convinced by myself, without any real experience about it, that it was logically imposible to exist above this physical world. But by trying astral projection out, I found out that it was not true.

Actually the most important thing recomended is to look for our own experiences, and not falling into believing something you still haven't really found out with real experience.

Interest, effort and action can give us our first astral experience.

Even though there can be new ideas and words here and there, and we get an explanation in words for them at first, what is recommended is that we take the approach of putting the interest and enthusiasm that we have to practice the excercises and techniques given in the course as the basis of our interest and learning.

Little by little we learn with the experiences that we have from that, instead of having to take for true things of which we don't really get their meaning and don't know if they exist or not.

Wishing you the best in the OBEcourse then, I tell you that I also came interested in astral projection and I was surprised to see how simple and amazing it is.

all the best Joseph!

I'd suggest simply ignoring what you cannot wrap your head around or simply cannot agree with, until you have proven it for yourself, one way or another.

All said and done, gnosis is about personal experience and knowledge, but like all religions, it is very easy to build a set of beliefs around it and start parroting what you have heard. It is upto each individual to reject/believe/prove for themselves, based on what they want out of the work and life.
Cheers
