Hey Everyone,

I am new to Astral Projection and Meditation but I have read about it in many books but I haven't really given it a go. I was wondering if you are able to astral project while meditating. Also, if you are able to, should you. Someone told me that you should meditate, then astral project, is this true?

What is the proper technique for meditating. Are you supposed to concentrate on an object the entire time as your mind shifts consciousness while only thinking about that object, or are you supposed to clear your mind and keep your mind clear while you shift consciousness. Also, what is the purpose of meditation and how does meditation and Astral Projection connect. Also how long are you supposed to medate and what is your objective for meditation.

Also, I don't understand why you need to concentrate on a single object while attempting to Astral Project. What exactly is the purpose of this.

Finally, can you tell me your own techniques for meditating and what you feel as you do this. What exactly happens as you meditate. And can you tell me your techniques for Astral Projection and what goes on in your head as you do this, what exactly do you feel? And as you travel astrally, how do you move, do you move the same way that you move physically. Like you try to move your physical body but your astral body moves instead, or it it like you move your astral body in your head and it moves, and while your in the astral world do you feel and see everything like you do outside of the astral like you regularly do?

Any information on this subject is helpful.

Thank you,

New to Astral.

Hello New,

Meditation is used to describe a number of different types of practices. These usually fall under two categories; concentrating the mind or quietening it. Meditation in general allows one to feel spiritual feelings and to gain spiritual experiences.

Astral projection requires keeping concentrated on one thing while the body goes to asleep. So yes, it does require a form of meditation to do this. Usually when we go into sleep we fall into a subconscious state (Dreaming). By keeping concentrated on one thing we are able to hold conscious awareness and become aware of the process of sleep and the shift into the astral plane.

Meditation techniques differ greatly depending on the result one is looking for and the technique being utilized. To go into too much detail about how it feels and what happens can inadvertently create a barrier for experiencing these things. Too much information at times can impede practices as one is trying to do such and such by how they think it should be done rather than by feel.

The best way to gain answers to all these questions is to take the courses given on this site and try the practices. You don't have to wait for the courses to start though as you can try some very simple meditation/astral projection practices immediately if you like.

Relaxation
This is a great practice as it can help one to more easily feel some of the benefits of meditation as well as being a practice that can bring on astral projection. This practices is also used to start most if not all spiritual practices so it's good to learn how to do it well.
Simply get into a comfortable position, preferably lying down on your back with your hands down by your side.
Start relaxing each muscle from you head down to your feet. Continue doing this trying to get more relaxed and going deeper and deeper into the state of relaxation.

Very simple but very powerful exercise.

Good luck and remember-practices are enjoyable.
Adam.

Best of Luck,

Hi,
I would just add to not force anything.
In many people's experiences, including my own, it is not advised to force meditation or astral projection. I et headaches and have a hard time relaxing anyway. No one can arrive at a meditative state by forcing it.

You'll find an extremely wide variety of answers in the statistics to your astral projection questions.

Hey Divonn

Meditation usually lasts as long as the individual is comfortable with. When starting out this may only be 10 or 20 min but as one trains the body and the mind to do it meditation can be done for several hours.

Astral Projection as a meditation practice from my own experience starts to become anti-productive once I am between the 3 or 4 hour mark. If I haven't gotten out in that amount time than I probably won't and pushing it any more can cause discomfort.

Astral projection depends a lot on the individual and even each individual practice can differ greatly. I once got the exit stage within 5 minutes and at other times it can take a few hours. How much people consciously project and even the length of time they do practices varies depending on circumstances and abilities.

All spiritual practices have to be pursued in a common sense way with balance between rushing to gain success due to impatience and laziness of not wanting to put in the effort.

If we want to experience astral projection we have to be determined to do the practices and investigate it. Not worry about how to do it or concerned about others being able to do it x amount of times. Simply exploring the marvels that astral projection meditation has to offer in persistent yet natural way.

Their are an array of techniques that can be used to AP but I best leave them to be given and explained in the relevant course area. There is a lot of information associated that is best given in the context of the course teachings by the relevant teachers.

If you really want to experience this just try every night with increasing time lengths the practice of relaxation that I have already outlined. Even if you don't project there are many marvels that practice can offer in the way of insights and experience that will help you a lot for when the astral course begins and with every spiritual practice in general.

I hope your out flying again soon,
Please feel free to post any other questions that you might have,
Adam
