Hello Shivoham!
I've found some symbology about the crocodile in the Twenty-two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah by Samael Aun Weor...
The Arcanum 21 depicts in its primary graphic a man who stands upon the back of a crocodile. Within his hands, he grasps a sacred cross, the Egyptian ankh, and he also holds a staff. Over his shoulders is the skin of a jaguar, and under his feet, a crocodile with his mouth open gazes upward, ready to consume the daring warrior, who stands on his back.
In Gnosis, we call the twenty-first arcanum Transmutation, and the term “transmute” indicates precisely the work that has to be done.
Also you can find plenty of crocodile knowledge in The Secret Doctrine by HP Blavatsky... The crocodile is the Egyptian dragon. It was the dual symbol of Heaven and Earth, of Sun and Moon, and was made sacred, in consequence of its amphibious nature, to Osiris and Isis... The Egyptians represented the sun in a ship as its pilot, this ship being carried along by a crocodile "to show the motion of the Sun in the moyst (Space)". The Alchemists say that the symbol of the sun in the ship on the Ether of Space meant that the hermetic matter is the principle of gold, or the philosophical sun; the water, within which the crocodile is swimming... representing the vessel of nature, in which the sun, or the sulphuric, igneous principle, acts as a pilot; because it is the sun which conducts the work by his action upon the moist of mercury.

Hi Shivoham,
From my experience seeing a crocodile in a dream may also indicate strong ego(s).
May the Force be with you.

The (open) jaws of the crocodile can relate to the gate of Hell.

In a negative sense, dreaming of crocodiles can represent the ability to hurt someone without regret or compassion. Also they represent hazards lying beneath the surface of a seemingly harmless situation. Seeing a crocodile in a dream is a warning: you may be surrounded by evil-minded people.
In a positive way represent your potential and powers capable to seize luck when it comes. Killing a crocodile in the dream is a sign that you will be able to defeat a powerful enemy.
Also see Alligator... According to biblical interpretations, an alligator suggests that leviathan is king over the children of pride. (Psa 74:14, Job 41:1,Isa 27:1)
Blessings

From my experience, a crocodile usually serves as a warning that we need to work harder upon ourselves and get rid of our own negativity. But this also depends in which context we have seen the crocodile. Some experiences with symbols can be very profound and we can instantly understand them. Intuition is a powerful and useful tool for this.

Thanks for the replies, all of you.
I'd just been wondering about this symbol, as it and the dragon both have positive and negative connotations...these answers are very interesting, thanks so much

Hi Shivoham
You can also ask your divine parents before you go to sleep to show you some things in your dream that help you in understanding that dream.
All the best,

Does having an alligator in your dream the same as having a crocodile?

Ahoy!
I think it does not really matter whether one sees an alligator or a crocodile or a shark. I believe that the message is, that there is something dangerous (an ego?) that is harming us spiritually and that we should put a priority to working on that particular defect.
The Divine within knows exactly our capacity to interpret dreams and I believe we do not need any ‘intellectual’ interpretations of the symbolism in our dreams from somebody else.
May the Force be with you.
