Hello everyone,

Recently I have learned about the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and I'm interested in this. The testimonials I've seen and read are incredible... phobias disappear forever, traumas are disolved, physical ailments go away, etc etc etc... I've tried on myself and found benefits also, though I don't have much experience with it.

For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it revolves around the body's energy meridians, the same as used in acupuncture. Instead of using needles, you use your fingers to gently tap on certain points on the body to stimulate the meridians and balance them, which makes negative emotions / egos / pains seemingly vanish; sometimes for good.

This sounds great to me, but from a Gnostic point of view I have no idea what happens with the egos when applying EFT. It seems as if the tapping breaks the hold the ego has on you somehow.

Of course the egos cannot be disintegrated through this technique, we need the divine for that, but maybe it can be used as a helping aid for really stubborn egos, especially maybe for students not yet able to practice Alchemy?

Does anybody here have any experience with EFT? Any thoughts about it?

All the best,
Christian

The health of the body can affect whether we're destroying egos or making new ones. Because you need a certain amount of energy to apply the techniques properly, do the practices, etc., and to get the self-observation and awareness right. For instance if you only get one hour of sleep one night, then the next day it's pretty difficult to be aware, so then if things come up and we're not aware, then we react egotistically and more egos are born. In fact, Samael says that any undigested impression is a new ego.

So I think EFT is possibly effective in the overall health of the body and mind which doesn't necessarily kill egos but it helps us to be aware and destroy the ones we have instead of making new ones.

I'm not recommending it really, because I don't know much about it, just addressing the issue of egos being killed or whatever.

Hello Christian,

Nothing would surprise me. The information and wonder out there is truly incredible.
However, there is so much help given to all of us to go forward that if such a technique was truly beneficial it would already be provided in the teachings here.
Then again its important to investigate things and not be fanatical so maybe it is worth looking into, even if it's just to spur on your esoteric curiosity. :-)
As always, and I am sure your aware, just try and be open to intuition guiding you one way or another.

All the best,
Adam.

Hi Christian,

it seems that it has a potential to free temporarly a physical body from unnecessary tension and contribute to health, as well as to general well-being. (all helpful for spiritual work)

From what I understand, egos form unnesassary tension in a physical body, and when it is a storage for a tension, tension prevents energy from a harmonious flow, which later can cause all sorts of sicknesses... to explain it simply.
When tension is released, egos seem to go back to the astral and wait for an opportunities to manifest.

If you are interested in it, perhaps it can be a good idea to study more or less Eastern medicine "explaining" how energy flows in meridians, etc., in a details.
I like Li Ding's "Acupuncture, Meridian Theory and Acupuncture Points"
EFT is just a business, it uses heavily markeing to leverage commercially some very simple things used and known in Eastern countries for many centuries.

Best wishes,

I've tried this in the past, I think - different name... It seemed to have a temporary effect sometimes - and to be perfectly honest with you, all that could be attributed to placebo - but things always returned to normal eventually. Looking back I can't say I got anything out of it. It may be of some use in the normal run of things to shift egos around and keep some of them away (if only temporarily) but for me it never brought about any long term changes...
