A Thought for Mother's Day

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

In the discussion yesterday, Edith mentioned some things that are so very important, and what better day than Mother's Day to reflect on them? She talked about the relationship with our Divine Mother, and how it's important to strive to be a good son or daughter, to learn from the situations that our Divine Mother gives us, and to come back to her no matter what. If we've strayed, if we've gotten caught up in the situations of life, then we need to sit down and have a frank chat with our Divine Mother and let her know we are sorry and would like to be given another chance to learn. We have to want to learn how to be better, we have to want to sacrifice the Ego in the situations in daily life, so that the light of consciousness can shine, so that we learn how to be strong, humble, patient, loving, selfless.

Our own Divine Mother... How loving and caring she is... How she wants us to learn how to be strong and how to love. If we'll only seek this relationship with the Divine, then everything else will take care of itself.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

--Jesus, from Matthew 22:37-40

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

--Jesus, from Matthew 6:31-34

Hello there Jim,
thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. The depiction of the diving mother is one of my favourites.

And thank you for reminding us of the importance of establishing and nurturing our relationship with our Divine Mother; we are nothing without her and her assistance in the Inner Work.
