Okay, so If you haven't read the book or seen the DVD for "The Secret" here's the basic idea: If you want something and strongly believe you'll get it, the universe will 'rearrange itself' and you will get it. Well, I read a thread on here somewhere about a guy who used a magic spell to change his eye color, and he said it worked. One thing I remember about it is that he said he really believed his eye color would change, and it did (well, he said so anyways). It struck me how it was pretty much the same principle. If you believe in something you'll get it? I guess I'm just pointing out the obvious, but of course I have alot of questions. First of all, doesn't anyone know for certain this stuff actually works? Second, would using this Belief method also be considered magic (which is supposedly bad)? And if the answer is yes to the first question: Why does it work? Oh yeah, and being able to change my eyecolor would be wicked awesome, which is why i really want to believe it works :D but ya. (I would change mine to green) anyways, thanks in advance for your responses (hopefully i'll get some...) |

It's not really a big secret. I prayed for all sorts of things growing up, and I always got them. I really did, I always got what I asked for. Well later on in life, I started realizing that when I'd ask for something, then I'd get it, but then there would be numerous consequences of how I got it. For instance, I might ask to not have to go to school for a week, then I might get really sick for a week. Slowly but surely, I started to realize that I didn't know what was best, it seemed like everything I'd ask for, although I'd get it, I would have to suffer some other way because of it.
That is the problem with this "secret." We, as humans, are generally slaves to the animal egos, the animal drives, greed, lust, envy, anger, pride, etc. So in this way then the "secret" only helps us to be bigger animals, better at getting what the Ego craves.
I would consider it magic in a way. Magic can be either helpful or harmful, depending on how you use it. If it's in the name of the Father who knows best, then it's helpful, but if it's done for the Ego then it's harmful, wouldn't you say?

Hi Jim
"I prayed for all sorts of things growing up, and I always got them" so who did you pray to?
You also mentioned about magic, but let's face it, we don't even have a clue what magic is or how to learn it and use it. If some people uses magic, where did they learn about it? Books?

Hi Fiigo,
When we pray our own being listens to us and there is no special formula or set way to pray it is a personal communication with the divine that is with in us and so there for everyone prays in the way they feel they should to there own internal being. There are two aspects of the internal being that are most commonly prayed to and they are the divine Mother and the divine father.
I think what each person calls magic could relate to different things so for example when someone gets what they asked for they call it magic but what about if we could do something commonly recognized as impossible say for example walking on water or flying something like that now people would call that magic too so I think magic can be a generic term for something that people can't explain, so theres a lot of things that can't be explained in this world so it's a very magical world indeed!
What is everyone's opinion or their idea of what they would call magic, is it casting spells or doing amazing things or even healing the unhealable.

I prayed to God the Father, who is everything yet hidden, and sometimes to Mother who I always related to earth and nurturing. Praying always seemed for me a very natural thing. Also I often prayed to Jesus.

Hi Jim,
Praying is very power stuff actually when you think about it, I remember one time when I was in my mid twenties I was living in a small town and that town was in an economic slump or depression where not a lot was happening and things didn't look all that Rosie for a while and I remember praying, I remember saying I don't know who I'm praying to but please help and something amazing happened, some help arrived that was very tangible, not long after that ideas started to develop to get myself out of that town, I set about getting all my super out of a superannuation fund that had some money from a job I had earlier which is not that easy to do here in Australia until you retire and I thought of going to Sydney which normally I would never ever think of doing and wow the money came through and I headed for the big smoke of Sydney. Amazingly I moved next door to a girl who came from the next town from where I was born and just got out of so there for I had a common bond with someone to help me start off with and then a year or two later I found gnosis.
It really was a powerful help which I can't deny if you know what I mean. I wonder how many things happen to people that they themselves know is something special but the rest of the world would think nothing of it!
Sometimes even simple things that happen could be... well magical!
All the best

I really like "Our Father" prayer and the prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi. (can see Jasmin's blog "Prayer in the Work")
It seems that sincere and honest prayers are magical and can make miracles!
Recently I followed something mentioned by Edith in Saturday skype talk and discussed by Mike in his blog about the help of the Divine Mother.
It was really amazing to me to see how praying to Divine Mother and then trying to "do your part" can help to change the whole day from something what can be called a "PROBLEM" into something which can be called a "SOLUTION"
Words of a prayer + living through the words of a prayer =magic
