Hi Jahfonde,
This just speculation, but I would imagine that circumstances are considered when karma is applied to someone. It would probably differ among police officers and across each situations for the individual police officer. So, taking someone's life when there are other more appropriate ways of handling the situation would probably result in different karma than if a fugitive has a gun on the police officer and it is a matter of self-defense.

Can anyone imagine this society without police, can anyone imagine it...what's going to happen then?
When psyche is full of egos and there is a lot of power to exercise, grave mistakes happen oftenly though.

Police uphold and enforce the illusion of law created by secular society. I think there's too many honestly, but we need them...
By just being aware of the nature of the world we live in, we see how bad things happen because good people don't do anything to stop them. We all know this, but forget it sometimes.
We need police. You recognize why, I'm sure.
We don't live in a time of peace.
Peace has to be fought for.
It is fought for externally because people don't fight for it internally first. If they did, that would mirror into the external world of atoms we exist in; but since they don't, they fight amongst each other and perpetuate selfishness.
So we need law and forced obedience.
Kinda tying in to my post on anarchy that I can't find, the idea of no-law can not exist in a society of selfish animals ruled by desire.
Only in a christified civilization can we have real order where there are no police, such a society follows the "glorian," the divine law in accordance with their being and true will of the father.
Because people do not realize their "I am," or their "Aun Weor," etc... we see that their own emptiness, generated by selfishness or the id, obscures the realization of any aspect of their being and they react with anger, lust, etc... instead of using even the lower parts of their awarness to respond in a different way.
I wish we didn't need cops, honestly. Even they can be made corrupt. But a true anarchy will never be a reality for us, the "children of the 5th sun."
