I'm interested if there are a few basics principles to help us improve each day within our spirituality. Basically are there any simple steps we can take that help us to help improve our lives? For example I might say that the first one could be meditation or energy body work. |

mantras.
keeping an open mind.
the most important thing I would say would be accepting mistakes and moving on.

Being aware of everything you do, think, say, feel during the course of your awake day and reflecting upon it at the time in order to help you know yourself.
all the best

I also find that reflection is crucial to making progress. In particularly, it helps me to understand what is going on internally that keeps me locked into certain states, such as negativity, and it helps me to see what I need to change in order to move forward. It also helps me to see whether I am making progress and the little successes that occur. There are some practices taught on the Self-discovery and Gnostic Wisdom courses that really help with this kind of reflection.

Knowing exactly what it is we want to achieve internally, and being committed and flexible enough to do whatever it takes to make it happen.
Might sound a bit daft (it kind of does when I see it in writing) but it's proven to be crucial for me.

Hi Andrei
I would suggest taking up the Self-Discovery course if you havent done so already. There are exercises given each week that are really benficial if you do them. The courses have helped me a lot.

I hope I don't offend anyone on here but I've always felt that praying is pointless as in a sense of impending disaster where it would be useless as it is only YOU who can guarantee failure or survival. When we communicate through the ether it should be positive thoughts more which should be communicated so the higher beings can help. I understood what you meant David absolutely but prayer does some seem some somewhat of a blunt blade.
Actually I've discovered that mediatation in the form of object staring really helps to liven up the mind and bring clarity.

You can pray from the heart without words. I think it was in the Flight of the Feathered Serpent, where Judas mentions that any time we want something and we work wholeheartedly to get it, it's a form of prayer. Here is another extract where Judas mentions prayer:
"Watch and Pray" was the heritage left by Christ for the courageous.
Watch is to do everything awakened; pray is a feeling of ardent yearning to be one with the Being.
However, he who prays and watches, even though they do it in an imperfect way, will receive generous help and he will learn to receive generously as well...
The help is in the Here and it is Now.
Some people pray with words, some people don't, but Jesus does make this point in Matthew 7:
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Personally I pray with words often, the Lord's prayer can be very powerful if we pray it and try to understand and feel it and live it.
