In today's talk Belzebuub briefly mentioned Mozart's Magic Flute for the second or third time now, so I was in search of a copy I could download legally, but couldn't find a good one, just a new-age looking one, but then I've come across a full version on YouTube, posted by the University which performed it :) I don't have time to watch it now, but definitely will later, thought you all might be interested too.

Hello Jim,
thank you for sharing this with us.

Personally, I have been a fan of the Magic Flute for many years, and have had the opportunity to see is on Video and at the Opera, live, twice.

Once you see it you start to understand why the Masters, Samael and Belzebuub, speak so highly of it. It shows the path in different aspects and shows two couples, one that is on the Path and the other that is pursuing a more mundane life.

I recall a particular moment during the beginning of the Second Act, the curtains drew back and on stage there was a scene of what was clearly a Masonic ritual. I remember feeling something quite profound inside and feeling that this was a teaching. I understood that is was showing us what an initiation would be like in the Internal Worlds.

Then in addition to this, there is the inspirationa and real beauty of Mozart's music. I have been listening to Mozart since a teenager, and personally, this piece is the most inspired, spiritually, for me.

I hope you enjoy the Opera as much as I have.
Regards,
Paty

Thanks Jim!

The translations is great - it helped me understand it alot better.

Don't praise Mozart too quickly!! The play wouldn't have been much without Emmanual Schikaneder who wrote the words.

I think Mozart just put it together in a way he thought it would spread quickly - in the form of a commedy and a crowd pleasing fairy tale.

Personally I'm not too sure if thats the proper way of spreading profound spiritual knowledge.

I dunno lemme think about it :)

I think music history is absolutly fascinating though - studied some classes in college formerly, and read some historical books since regarding the different composers. I love it - and I hope to chat with you again about it at a historical level.

No problem Ahona, when I watched it, I just opened the .txt and kept it in the space under the video and followed along the singing. The actual dialogue is in English. Some of the parts in act 2 weren't in the .txt so just had to enjoy the music during those parts.

Ralph, okay get back to me on it ;) Thanks for the info on who wrote the words. I never cared much for Mozart so I wouldn't have gone and praised him for his esoteric knowledge, but I'd say out of all his work I've heard I liked this opera the best. The story is definitely something to now put into practice.

This is a coincidence.

I was just finishing a project for European History class on the Magic Flute and I stumbled on this when I was learning about freemasonry

I used to live in Austria, and I've seen the Magic Flute performed at the opera house there.

By the way, I've heard several people tell stories about how they astral projected into books and movies such as Harry Potter (which is very strong in the astral because many people imagine and think about Harry Potter). Maybe you could try projecting into the Magic Flute

Karl - what an amazing experience it must have been to have seen opera inside the Opera House in Austria.

It seems like such a beautiful country that is so rich in history and culture. It must have been so awsome to be at the center of arts and culture and the enlightenment era - objects of freemasonry at every corner of the street, always a reminder of the possibility of perfection.

Its too bad that free masonry didn't enlighten the world the way it promised.

Jim, I found this article in the New Yorker - he apparently didn't write the words for alot of his productions. He worked with other Librettists.
