Why wouldn't everyone want to reach Christ Consciousness?

Each disciple that treads the path is a threat, a sign to be noticed, and a reason for panic and fury amongst those of counter wise and inverted motive.

Throughout the volumous treaties communicated by our masters you will not turn many pages before an in depth thesis on the subject is seen. The fact remains always the same. The great obstructers seek simply and clearly to oppose, obstruct hinder and destroy in any and every way imaginable the forward spiritual advancement upon the spiritual path of discipleship and Initiation.

What is it brothers, to be held in materiality? It is to renounce God, to step away from higher evolution which is our true being and birth right, and to actively work to destroy your brothers passage and to separate and break away from the scheme of planetary and solar evolution. The Masters boldly instruct us that the task of the disciple to initiation is to actively destruct and destroy all hindrances that either perpetuate the personal or planetary dweller that the obstructers seek to uphold and glorify. It is an active and aggressive work brothers, is that not so?

It doesn't answer all questions, but that's o.k. It's enough to think about for now.

Dusty, I have no answer for why some people make choices to consciously become black lodge initiates. They exist as challenges and obstacles in path to enlightenment. But the real evil that we face is that which exists within.

If we don't have fear - the negative entities can't scare us, if we don't have subconscious, egos - we can not be distracted, misled. Beause we have the subconscious, so these forces can have control over us.

Darkness exists so that we can appreciate the true value of light. Without it there would be no learning, as we cannot learn in light only. The forces of darkness are within and they are what really block us from progressing. With elimination of egos - we increase the consciousness , we gain wisdom and understanding and that is what the learning is.

As I understand from the writings of the masters, not all Monads want to Self-Realize, so not all Monads care to push their essences here in this world so that they seek true knowledge and do the spiritual work on themselves.

The way I see and understand it there are strong essences and there are weak ones. The weak ones are the people who are just slaves to their host of egos, incapable of resisting the power their egos have over them. There are people who are completely ruled by the egos and so everything they do is just to give their egos what they want - sensations. If their ego commands them to lie on their cushions, they do just that. They are always obeying the whims of the egos. When they hear about the Work, their egos become concerned about it and would come up with a good explanation and justification why the spiritual work is not for them. Perhaps the egos would tell them "you are not ready yet" or "only a few make it to the end, so why do you think that you are one of them few". The egos would come up with a false idea that "this is not the only path, there are as many paths as there are people", that "you can't be sure if it's true or not, it may be all wrong" or "it's enough just to believe in something and be saved like many other people do in the world" etc.

It's always sad to see how someone gets subdued by the egos and put "back in line" by them, abandoning the teaching to pursuit the illusions of the egos. All the egos care about is to have more and more sensations until their turn comes to be recycled in the Abyss. The egos could care less about the fate of the consciousness they enslave.

So, there are those who find the strength to fight the great war against their egos and those who just don't find the strength.

I think you are now beginning to understand that we shouldn't pretend that there is no evil in us because there is evil in every person. If we are sincere with ourselves, we see all that evil in us. We shouldn't hide ourselves from the problem, we should instead solve it. We should confront all the evil inside of us, declare a war against it and eliminate all the evil that we have inside of us. We can do that only if we know how to. We are lucky that the courses here teach us how to. And the good news is - everyone has equal potential to eliminate all of their egos. We just need to find that strength needed...

This past weekend they were showing Harry Potter on television that my kids were watching. I think these series of movies illustrate perfectly this question. We have mogols who are blown about like a feather in the wind. Then we have the ones who search the mystery for forces of good, and on the opposite spectrum we those who serve to awaken the darkness.

This character Mr. Mouthboy, is a good example of serving the dark side.

As I glanced to see the end of the movie I asked why does he want to bring back this very evil fella? What causes him to serve the evil?

So I looked at my self and realized that in many circumstances I have made conscious decisions of deceive. So I looked for the causes associated with that behavior in me. Some already stated fear invites the egos, that is my case too. Pride looked at the bigness of the dark side and fears it, but it does not want to admit that Its a coward, thus in order to save its face it attempts to make alliances with greater powers then its self hopping to retain power and control. Unfortunately this comes at price: the psychological slavery that causes ever increased karma to a point where one would give up all hope or give completely one self to blindness of ignorance, and eventual self destruction.

After I realized this, I felt great sadness for Mr. Mouthboy, and reaffirmed that pride in me must die.

Good insights Currently. It is the next step from here, to take it to practical life that is what is crucial and challenging, to spot and disintegrate the egos as they arise in real life situations - for example when waiting in a long queue wishing that you find someone who can get things done instantly! All those thoughts are infact led by evil.

I wouldn't take "Harry Potter" series as a source of esoteric knowledge.

In the chapter 25 of "The Perfect Matrimony" Samael Aun Weor presents some insights into the nature of those who are on the dark side. The chapter is called Fatality not without a reason. I think it clearly describes their state. I don't think they can really make a _conscious_ decision to serve the Darkness. Rather they are not strong enough to consciously choose and follow the Path to Salvation, but weak enough to succumb to the Darkness.

From my understanding, going into darkness has some similarities with going into drugs, violence, sexual obsessions, etc., becoming more and more fascinated with something (enslaved), enforcing all-justifying mind, animalistic desires, plus certain mystical practices, etc.

With progressing further, which takes time, we should understand better how darkness works because defence from it is the part of the work, and with elimination of egos, more understanding and wisdom will come.
