I have recently taken an interest in colours and how they reflect upon us. Out of interest what is YOUR favourite colour? This applies to everyone who reads this and if you can answer with just your favourite that would be great thanks. Mine's Blue, |

Umm, that's hard to say. lol I like few colors and I don't think they are less favorite. The color I am attracted most of the time is blue no matter if it is dark or light or whatever but I also like white and the green color ...... just love the pink, the lighter yellow and the violet. Can't pick one. lol

Hi,
Interesting question. I like to look at blue and bluish-green things, but not pure green. What does that mean?

Well......I have been looking at colour therapies and how they relate to our feelings and chakras as well. If we take the lowest wavelength of the spectrum, we have red, orange related to lower vibrations and possibly a more dominant aspect of one's personna and sexually as well. Yellow is linked to the nervous system as well as most of the bodily organs. Green is related to the heart chakra as well as pink which also primarly is linked to the immune system. Blue (my favourite) is linked to the thyroid and throat and is on the higher vibrational state.....where as the last two are indigo and violet which are linked to parts of the brain and the pituitary gland.
Should these colours be related to how one behaves is up to what you people on here feel about it but there are very close possiblities.

I think the colors are about right for the chakras, although I've never seen it explained by a real Master. But it just makes sense, going up the rainbow, 7 colors, 7 chakras.
As far as how all that relates to someone's favorite color, I don't know. I think it's best to be careful about that sort of thing. I know when I dabble into things somewhat intellectually/somewhat intuitively, I start to sugar-coat everything in myself, so like if I were the one doing this I would all of a sudden think, oh that's neat, I must have a rich spiritual past to like the color blue... But that's just distracting, putting myself on some pedestal, it's just silly, but you can see this behaviour in so many pseudo-esoteric groups nowadays where it's common for people who don't really understand what they're talking about to say, "Oh yeah you're an old soul," "You came back to settle something," or whatever. So your mind gets caught up and filled up with all these half-truths, which makes it that much harder to just let go and die in this instant. I'm not saying this is what you or anyone here is doing, but it is something that happens and it just came to mind.
You know, when I was a child is when I decided my favorite color was blue. I didn't understand why, but I knew I was supposed to have a favorite color, so it seemed blue was right. Maybe I just stuck with that. A little later in school, it was supposed to be normal to have a favorite football team, so I picked Dallas Cowboys, and I stuck with that for a bit.... I actually didn't care about football at all, was just doing what I thought was normal. Maybe it's the same thing, just social conditioning.
My grandpa would not drink out of a green glass, he always thought it looked like it was poisoned... Maybe he was poisoned in a past life. Or maybe he hates the heart chakra. Or maybe the heart chakra hates him. Maybe this, maybe that. Too many maybes.

Just to add, my favorite color is Aqua Blue.
I do know that I did not pick this when I was little, but picked it in my 20's after seeing picture from the Caribbean with colorful houses at a beach side over looking the green-blue ocean. It was the color of the ocean that made my heart sing and the description was Aqua Blue, so it stuck with me because it made me feel so happy.
Jim, I like your tid-bits on deeper meaning of our not so deep attachments to colors and sports teams, lol.
If someone calls us old soul, that would be the saddest day, as we have missed so many lifetimes to awaken our selfs.
Wishing you all a great spiritual morning.
