I've been projecting for over 2 years. But any time that I have projected it has always been on accident or not willingly, I would just wake up out of my body. Anytime that I try to project I always fail. I have no problem getting into the vibration stage, its just that I can never leave my body willingly I always get really close or just halfway out. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions that could help me out. I've taking the courses already...

Well, I have the same problem as you do. And my line of thought goes like this:
What are the skills we need to successfully AP?
1) Concentration
2) Falling asleep while concentrating (not too fast, not too slow)

Now, those who know tell us that 2) naturally comes when 1) is highly developed. So I decided to put all my assets on developing concentration, stopping all my AP practices for a while since this goal setting tended to make me feel discouraged (I did not ever get to projecting). So I now do concentration exercises, every day!
Once I will be well established in concentration I will come back to AP. I define this as being able to concentrate on one object without ever losing it for at least 15 minutes. I guess you know that this is very hard, but that is the goal I set.

Off course, you could just continue to practice AP also. but I put all my assets on waking up in dreams and concentration practices now. To me this has the added benefit that I can do meditation on an ego every night.

I hope you will find a system that works for you.

Olivier.

Well, one of my Astral Experiences happened when I was dreaming. I've always been terrible at maintaining lucid dreams, but this time was different. I became lucid in the dream and immediately after that, without even trying, I started to AP. It was my most successful AP yet, as I managed to stay in one place, pass through AND fly effortlessly (so amazing) which I haven't been able to do before. My current tactic is to develop my ability to dream lucidly, and then work my way up to AP.

Hi Sal,

I like Olivier's tactic.

Let's be aware that it can take even more than 15 days of practices to reach that level of 15 minutes of non-breakable concentration.
But without it, without days of practices, mind is likely not to stay focused even for a few minutes, even in a comfortable situation.

Another thing, maybe you can look into, is an inner attitude towards your practices and success.
When a person can't project after many-many trials, it's easy to create one of the many negative attitudes towards the practices ("it's not really possible for me now", "if I try hard, I won't fall asleep and tomorrow is a busy day", "it just doesn't work", etc.) and keep repeating the same pattern again and again.
Enthusiasm and belief of a newbie can become replaced with pessimism and frustration, instead of faith and confidence.

If it is the case, it can be great just to start it all over again, start practices again like you don't really know what to do. Going fully with single-minded focus to find out how does it work, what are the ingredients "to bake a cake", using Master's analogy.

But the first step to make into a new direction is to stop walking towards an old one.

best wishes!
