Does anything like this happen to anyone?

Yesterday, I came back from the flower shop where I work. It was around 6 in the evening and I was a bit tired. I relaxed myself, lay on the sofa for a few minutes and then sat for meditation using OM which I read from this site. As I understand it was supposed to activate the chakra of the heart, right? So I sat and emptied my mind and chanted Om over and over, loudly at first then gradually toning down until i was only chanting it in my mind. I wasn’t sure how long I was sitting before it happened but I suddenly felt I was not in my room or was I anywhere. I was only aware of soft music playing and in the instant I forgot I was meditating I felt like crying over some sweet sound. I tried to listen more but it ended very soon. Was it just an over active imagination? When I opened my eyes I felt refreshed and brand new person inside.

Tell me is this something normal to feel when meditating on Om? Is there any other mantra to use that activate the heart?

I am new and so please patience with my questions.

Thanks

Love,

Molly

Hi Molly,

You definitely experienced the power of this mantra like you said. They can really make us feel better if we do them dedicated and concentrated. After doing the mantra O or OM (both for the heart/intuition and the last also for astral projection) I also feel a lot better.

Other mantra's can help us to astral project, increase our visions in the astral world, improve our dream quality etc.

It is hard to say what the sound was you heared, because you experienced it yourself. Usually we can hear sounds if we find ourselves between the sleep/waking state of the physical body.

Hi Molly,

The music could have also come from the Astral, sometimes this can be heard during the split between the physical body and the astral body.

all the best,

Marc

Molly,

This is very common in meditation. Physically, there is a certain part of our brains that distinguishes time and space. Deep meditation diminishes the signal from these regions, causing us to lose sense of where we are or how long we are there. In reality, there is no time or space, so what you are doing is releasing a barrier that keeps you from reality. You are in fact experiencing reality; embrace it as a step toward awakening, it's one of the coolest things that can happen.

The mantra you used activates your heart chakra, which is associated with love and other virtuous emotions, especially with loving oneself in a sincere, non-egotistic way. Maybe you are rediscovering your love for yourself. It sounds like a beautiful experience. Thank you for sharing, you made my day.

I don't know Jahfonda if I extuinguished an Ego or just gave birth to a new one. Ever since I heard that music I feel sadness every day. I want to hear it very often, sometimes the feeling was just too much to bear that I wished my husband was still with me, he always knew what to do or maybe I didn't need him to say anything, just hold me is all.

Red, talking about the brain thing, has it something to do with left hemisphere? or maybe some kind of seed implant in our brain?

if its leading to you to feel addicted to this song, then, yeah id say youve created a new one,
stop your self from listning to it often, and perhaps not listen to it for the reason of being sad.

when listning to it, obseve the feeling you get, stay as detached to the feeling as possible, or else it will just take you over.

dont fall for egos, there very cunning.

Hi Molly,

The study I am referring to is from Dr. Andrew Newberg of the University of Pennsylvania that showed "a notable decrease in activity in the back part of the brain, or parietal lobe, recognised as the area responsible for orientation." He basically took 3D images of Buddhist monks' brains during deep meditation and compared them to images taken during normal activity.

Dr Newberg explained: "During meditation, people have a loss of the sense of self and frequently experience a sense of no space and time. Perhaps that [spiritual] sense of reality is more accurate than our scientific everyday sense of reality."

The study seems to concentrate on front and rear regions of the brain rather than right or left. If you want to read the story, here is the link.

About the music, take what I say very lightly because I am no expert, but it seems to be an ego distraction. Maybe the music is your ego's way of feeding itself with sadness. Make a habit of forgiving yourself and others. Forgiveness is the most powerful way to perpetuate good karma and bring about positive changes in your life. Pray to your Dvine Mother to eliminate egos causing attachment and sadness, and to fill you with comfort and solace. That's what she does best.

I hope this helps.

Hello Molly,

You certainly have experienced a freedom from the mind, the feeling of sadness is realization that this is what you do not have in your everyday life. You have thirst (desire) to get back to that blissful moment, but have difficult time getting back to it (you might be feeling resentment towards your self), that is what makes you sad and can feed your egos in the process.

forgive your self that you are bottled up in your mind. Go back to observing your self with out judgment in here and now (with love and compassion), that will transform your experiences in to a wisdom. We have so many blockages in our psyche from our past which were only experienced through our emotions as we hid our selfs from them, these must be understood in order to release us from that knot and turn it in to a conscious wisdom. The more you transform your experiences in to a known, the closer you get towards your freedom, than you can have that blissful moment at your command.

Consider that experience as a gift to strengthen your will towards the work. From your experience you know you are getting closer. Your spouse cannot do the work for you (but praying for you never hurts). You were the one that have taken the effort in first place and you were rewarded for your effort. It is only you who will be able to get you back to that moment.

Wishing you all a great spiritual morning.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Actually today I feel already relaxed, no feeling of sadness or whatever and all I wanna do is just enjoy the music. So perhaps Divine Mother is helping me get through all this, perhaps my husband also is whereever he may be. and i feel grateful to meet people like you. Hope to see you more i can't wait to be in Asral Travel course soon.

Very interesting Red, i'll take a look. i read something like, in the long run as the consciousness continously expand, these buddhist monks developed a depression in ther crown region. I'm no expert too i'm graeful for all the guidance.

Love,

Molly
