The more I get into Gnosis, the more time I feel like spending on spiritual activities and exercises but every now and then the urge to do something of a totally banal or un-spiritual nature still beckons, for example watching a program TV that has no educational or spiritual value.
I guess that’s to be expected because for so many years this is how I passed my time, and even though I continue to change on a daily basis, I am still full of egos of laziness and boredom.
Recently I found myself with a few minutes to spare after having spent some time at the centre I attend and after having completed some spiritual practises in my own time as well. I decided to watch the news and then a ‘few minutes’ of the program that followed it. “I deserve it,” the egos told me, “It’s just a few minutes, “this program actually has some uplifting and inspiring elements to it,” etc. It’s amazing how the egos can start to justify almost anything I want to do with excuses.
Before I knew it, ‘a few minutes’ had become an hour and I found it really hard to pull myself away from the TV as colourful advertising and glossy ego-fuelling programs flew across the screen. Then the next day the pull was even stronger to ‘just watch a few minutes’ of this particular program, and because I had given in the day before I decided to give in again.
However after just a few moments I realised that what I was doing was a total waste of time, how many minutes do we really have to awaken? How many minutes in this lifetime have I really been given? Who was I to waste time?
I struggled to put the remote control away and pulled out a book by Samael Aun Weor that I had been reading and this is how I passed the time until I had to go to bed. That night I had an amazing dream that related exactly to one of the concepts Master Samael had been relating in his text. My dream had confirmed to me one of his teachings and I was so supremely grateful for being shown something more about Gnosis. If I had wasted my evening watching TV I would not have learned anything at all, instead I was given a gift of understanding that night.
You never know when you’re about to be given a teaching, there is no time to waste. Every moment is a moment you can use for awakening spiritually and this life is so short: How many minutes have you been given this time around? Who are you to waste them?

That's a very powerful message - that we don't have time to waste. Something so important to keep in mind yet so easily forgotten.
Congrats on the teaching, too!

It was inspiring to read your post.
Yes, I think, that's where so many internal battles take place...in the small little things like you've described.
Divine forces seem to always look to help for those who help themselves.
And really, really, I am sure that there is absolutely no time to waste.
Life is not that long to feed egos and then suffer from it.
Life can be very different and change can be so real.
Thanks, Yvette, all the best in internal work to you and to everyone!

According to what I see on my screen, Yvette wrote that post on Tuesday, the first of April and today it's April 19.
I know that part of that time I used well, however so much was wasted still...
...just something to share, feel like talking a bit in the early morning here...
