Hi Sender_Unknown,
Have you been getting enough sleep lately? I find the days when I get less sleep than I should the previous night and have a hectic day, I'm very prone to falling asleep virtually immediately (or sometimes having insomnia).
A few suggestions - maybe they'll be helpful.
Along with getting a full night's rest, you could try taking a short nap in the afternoon or early evening so that you are less likely to fall asleep immediately when you go to bed.
Perhaps try going for a light walk before bed. I usually fit in a brief walk outside shortly before bed. I think it helps me to stay fresh and alert, yet at the same time keeps me relaxed enough to fall asleep gradually.
Another thing you could try is to start your astral projection practices sitting up slightly. Then you won't fall asleep right away. When you get into your practice, gently slide into a sleeping position and continue.
I'd also say trying to spend the days more "in the moment" - not getting lost in daydreams or getting caught up in anger or fear, etc., can help a lot in astral practices. If our days are spent more in the moment our practices at night just seem to go so much better because we've spent our days with a higher level of consciousness.

To add something small, ap is result of balance concentration and relaxation, when falling asleep too quickly it can mean that concentration is too little.
Try to increase concentration by being prepared and determent to keep on focusing. Really put your mind to it.

Just one very small thing to add up: if you can, and if you feel comfortable to wake up a few hours before the regular time, these few hours can be used for astral projection practice.
Having rest and gaining energy, and plus, still being a bit sleepy...great state to return back to the astral consciously!
