Hi everyone, My partner, Susan, sent me a video a friend shared with her. This video is amazing. A brain scientist experiences a stroke in her left hemisphere, and experiences consciousness without the left brain chatter, without the narrow identification of being a separate individual, focused on the present moment. I highly recommend this video! |

Thanks for the link, amazing story! I can also share a related experience but without the stroke (I hope).
I was sitting down with my eyes closed, listening to some sort of spiritual music in my headphones. And I listened with all of my heart, it was just so beautiful and it touched something inside of me.
Because of the beauty I followed the music intensily in my head, but without effort. All of a sudden I could see through my eyelids and it was just as she explained in the video. My body just dissolved in glowing atoms and became one with the air and all other objects. We're all pixels! And I could feel when I stretched out that everything is just - one. It was so peaceful.
It lasted maybe 20-25 seconds and to my knowledge I didn't fall asleep. I just did nothing. Nothing, no thoughts, no emotions, nothing. It took no effort at all. That was the most noticable thing (...except that all is one...), that it was so easy, no effort. I have tried to repeat it but have failed because then I always put in effort and ego and my left hemisphere.
I don't think I was experiencing a stroke, although now it makes me wonder... I hope it was more of a buddhistic experience.
Anyone else? I tried to tell my family but got the usual response :-)

loved it. how inspiring that is and how much wisdom it brings to the process and understanding what we all trying to do here.
Thank you for letting us know of this wonderful person and her story.
And WOW Liza that is just as amazing what you have experienced. For me unfortunately I am still stuck in the left hemisphere.
Now I have a window view into total surrender.
Wishing you all a great spiritual morning.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the video.
Hey Liza, what a marvelous experience you had.
Music can be so powerful.
Years ago, I had the good fortune to visit the Findhorn community in Scotland.
There was a harpist there who said he channeled for the angels. He started talking about tuning and resonating with the strings of the harp, the other people in the audience, even the structure of the whole building... and I just bought it all with my whole being.
I started feeling wonderfully peaceful and connected with everything. I lost awareness of myself as a body, and increasingly felt energy flowing upward thru me. Before long, I felt like I was a stream of light energy, I felt I was part of the love of everyone and everything.
When the harpist stopped playing, I gradually came back somewhat to an ordinary awareness, but still very peaceful.
I asked some other people how they liked the music. I was surprised that these other people weren't turning into streams of light. LOL .
